I wasn't looking forward to this but decided to watch it over Christmas break. 10/10. Fantastic concept with Vince Gilligan style.
8/10. I would rate it higher, but sometimes it’s a little slow in that wasting time/filler style Vince Gilligan has, and the unrealistic coyotes which get on my nerves. Completely unique plot. Has gayness, of course, but it’s not gratuitous.
PS I wish Kim Wexler had gone with the short haircut a long time ago.

She's very good in this but she does have a Jason Bateman feel to her (same persona no matter the role).
GF watched the first episode, then told me to give it a try. I watched it tonight. Didn't love it, but I'm curious to see where it goes. It will probably be the next thing we watch, after we finish Ken Burns' American Revolution and then the new season of Slow Horses.

For me, the biggest similarity to Breaking Bad (I haven't watched Better Call Saul) is that by the end I hate the main character, and am kinda rooting for their death. Carol is so mad at the other "survivors" because they're basically fine with what's happening. But as soon as she gets lonely and starts banging Zosia, she decides everything is just hunky dory. The way she treated Manousos... I was hoping he'd take the machete to her. And as soon as her autonomy was threatened, she's right back to "gotta save the world."
I'm still a little confused about them turning her. I thought they needed her consent for the whole process, not just to harvest her stem cells. But apparently not. Despite repeatedly telling her that her life is her own.
I assume at some point we'll find out exactly why those 13 weren't turned.
I think I'd pretty much do exactly what Mr. Diabate was doing. Minus the bullshit poker game. I'd skip right to the after-poker party.
Overall, an interesting premise. I just wish the main character was written a little better. Not so easily manipulated.
