    good stuff lowell. normally a lot of trends are nonsense but this is one that is based on sound football principles. would presume that the record is for 2005 only? and when does it start from? meaning how far into the season did the teams have to be before the trend became "trackable"?

    what's "gimmicky" about the texas tech offense? they don't run all kinds of trick plays. they just line up with 4 or 5 wideouts every time and constantly put pressure on your secondary for 60:00. leach is an offensive genius but not because he's re-invented the wheel.

    cant say firsthand what its like in akron, but im a half an hour north and its been snowing since the middle of the afternoon on friday. i believe thats supposed to continue overnight. not sure how much of it will stick on the ground come gametime but weather is less than ideal.

    there seems to be an inordinate amount of line moves "across zero" so far this season. and half the time, they've been wrong. ostensibly, the gonzaga/mich state move is a 4 or 4.5 point move, but you can almost consider 1-0-1 "dead" numbers. it's very tough for the game to land on those numbers...

    saint: cleveland state was within 8 or so until the final media timeout of the half, or thereabouts, before carolina hit them with a late 1h run and then blew them out in the 2nd half. i think at some point it was 38-30 with 5:00 to go or so. some teams come into acc gyms and are down 24-6...
