0-1 YTD:

As you can see I don't post much in the baseball forum. I don't play these games nearly as much as hoops or football. I like a couple of games on the card for tomorrow. I also looked hard at Milwaukee because I love betting on Davis and Capuano, especially when I can get them as a dog. However, there are a few guys in the Cards lineup that rake Davis. It's a no-play for me. Here are the plays:

Oakland -145 - I don't like laying chalk like this but I really think this is the play. While I'm not impressed with the A's lineup I'm equally unimpressed with Kyle Lohse. The A's have been able to put up runs in the first two games so I don't see scoring being a problem for them tomorrow. As for their pitcher... Joe Blanton is just filthy. Having both Blanton AND Harden on the same staff should be illegal. The A's need this game to avoid the sweep and I think they will get it. I almost took the runline but decided to play it conservative and took the ML.

Dodgers -105 - Oliver Perez is another young pitcher with a lot of potential who is really struggling right now. Maybe it's just me but it seems like there are a lot of them. I'm not a big fan of Derek Lowe but in this spot I feel more confident backing him than Perez. Lowe has pretty good numbers against the Bucs, the only guys who hit him remotely well are Randa and Burnitz. I don't know about Randa but Burnitz won't hurt you unless you make a mistake to him. Otherwise he will usually get himself out. I feel like the Dodgers are the better team with the better lineup and even though the Pirates have a little momentum I don't see them winning three in a row.

Thanks guys. Good luck to you both as well.

Trolln,

The Brewers could very well pull it out today. Suppan is a decent pitcher but I think the Brewers can score some runs off of him. I really like Davis a lot, I was just scared off by some of the averages I saw against him. If I remember correctly there were at least 3 Cards hitting either right around or over .400 against him.

Unbelievable. Joe Blanton getting rocked by the frigging Twins of all teams. If anyone can predict this sport I'd love to meet him.

Ok, that should just about do it for me. :mj07: I'm thinking it's time to cash out and cut my losses. Maybe I was dumb to bet on the A's with that AAA lineup of theirs, but then again I didn't think Blanton would get shelled by the weak lineup of the Twins. I'm beginning to think you have to be psychic to come out ahead when betting on baseball. You think a game shapes up perfectly for you and the other team not only wins, they win in blowout fashion. Hell, I may as well just go the casino and park my ass in front of the Keno monitor. The odds of me winning are probably just as good. :mj07:

Anyway, good luck to everyone on the bases. I should be around for football season. Can't wait!
