0-1 YTD:
As you can see I don't post much in the baseball forum. I don't play these games nearly as much as hoops or football. I like a couple of games on the card for tomorrow. I also looked hard at Milwaukee because I love betting on Davis and Capuano, especially when I can get them as a dog. However, there are a few guys in the Cards lineup that rake Davis. It's a no-play for me. Here are the plays:
Oakland -145 - I don't like laying chalk like this but I really think this is the play. While I'm not impressed with the A's lineup I'm equally unimpressed with Kyle Lohse. The A's have been able to put up runs in the first two games so I don't see scoring being a problem for them tomorrow. As for their pitcher... Joe Blanton is just filthy. Having both Blanton AND Harden on the same staff should be illegal. The A's need this game to avoid the sweep and I think they will get it. I almost took the runline but decided to play it conservative and took the ML.
Dodgers -105 - Oliver Perez is another young pitcher with a lot of potential who is really struggling right now. Maybe it's just me but it seems like there are a lot of them. I'm not a big fan of Derek Lowe but in this spot I feel more confident backing him than Perez. Lowe has pretty good numbers against the Bucs, the only guys who hit him remotely well are Randa and Burnitz. I don't know about Randa but Burnitz won't hurt you unless you make a mistake to him. Otherwise he will usually get himself out. I feel like the Dodgers are the better team with the better lineup and even though the Pirates have a little momentum I don't see them winning three in a row.
