the thing that bothers me about it

is vacuum packed and frozen

They could be five years old vacuum packed and frozen.

really cant tell the freshness when they are packaged that way.

But I was skeptical about the floor sweeper thingee and Jack still uses that to this day.

I think

I bought some steaks from a guy selling out of a tent one time. When I got them home I looked at all 20 steaks that I had purchased.

They all had a dark line going through them.

I took them back to the dude and asked him what that line was.

He said it was whip marks from the jockey.:142smilie

Let me give you guys some good advice if you want quality meat go to your local butcher.
Trust me on this especially for ribeyes, porterhouses, t-bones, shell steaks or sirloins.

I would say a guarter side of beef for less then 150 bucks is darn good. WE got a out fit that comes to town out of Iowa. And I always been happy with the meat. I even like it more when they come with shrimp to. Nice sized ones at half super market price. I bet you will be happy Jack.

We have friends that farm beef about 10 minutes from our new place, Dave. Its organic and hormone free and they will wrap and freeze it anyway you want.
We bought a 1/4 cow a couple of years ago and it lasts us a year. Running short on hamburger this year, but the steaks will last until July when we buy another 1/4 cow and fill up our deep freeze.
toss a deep freeze in the back of your pickup and come on down for the best beef you will ever eat. :00hour
