Notre Dame Over 7 wins (-110) 2 units
Notre Dame's problems last year were plentiful and it was entirely on the offense or at least they were so bad, you couldn't blame the defense because they were never in the game to begin with. 55+ sacks against last year and footage from the Oline play against Michigan made me  then :mj16: and then :hah: .

It was stunning how 5 guys could all wiff against a 4-man rush. But then as the season wore on, it wasn't just the Oline, it was a frosh and soph QB who never had their timing down and young WR's who couldn't get off of routes. There was improvement last year at the of the season in the QB and WRs, but it's not being talked about because everybody stopped watching.
The Oline was young and Weis tried to develop a spread for the GT game and while it looked awful, running out of that spread was one of the most successful quarters for ND in the first half of the year. Once they went back to a base offense, the line looked clueless and never fully recovered.
But, by everyone's account, ND has 3 top 10 recruiting classes in a row. Some other schools that have performed that feat are U$C, Florida, Texas, LSU, Ohio State and Michigan. While the Junior class has to be downgraded because two top 10 QBs have left, they still have the foundation in the Lines and their LBs and their secondary, WRs and RBs are stacked with talent. The ND fans have pointed to Ty's lack of recruiting as being the reason for 2007's woes and it has been mocked at by most journalists, but anyone who can take the time to see the types of players that they were getting, the gaping holes that were left on both sides of the line know that it's true. Also, it's fitting to note that Washington has exactly ZERO committed recruits in their class of 2009.
While 2007 saw mourning in South Bend.
2008 is Morning in South Bend
In bold below are the games that they possibly could lose - I think they have five wins in the bag. They'll be favored vs. Michigan, Purdue, possibly UNC, Pitt and BC. The potential losses I see are UNC, MSU, Pitt and USC and they could take 3 of the 3.
Sat, Sep 6 San Diego State 3:30 pm --
Sat, Sep 13 (18) Michigan 3:30 pm -- (First Road Game for new coach, new system, new QB)

Sat, Oct 4 Stanford 2:30 pm --
Sat, Oct 11 at North Carolina TBA --
Sat, Oct 25 at Washington 8:00 pm --
Sat, Nov 1 Pittsburgh 2:30 pm --
Sat, Nov 8 at (10) Boston College TBA -- (O'Brien left for greener pastures for a reason)
Sat, Nov 15 at Navy 12:00 pm --

I think the Irish go 10-2 during the year and fall into the more traditional Weis season of a back to back smack down against SC and a BCS team. I think worst case scenario this year in 7-5.
Go Irish!! Beat the Aztecs!!! (Scheduling SDSU is just one last FU from Ty)
