Got my kindle a few weeks ago...early Christmas present to myself, but I am returning it this week in favor of the Nook. Dunclock came to visit us and told me how you can get free books from the library in epub format, but kindle only supports amazon format, so I am getting the nook so I can get library books...
Anyway, read three books since I got it-
"Son of the Circus" by John Irving: Easy reading, good story. Love Irving. Would not say this is one of his best novels, but certainly worth a read.
"Life of Pi" by Yann Martel: Easy reading, with some deeper meaning. Greatly enjoyed it and sending a hard copy to my family for Christmas. They are pretty religious, but my dad is also quite philosophical and has his masters in divinity, so I think he would enjoy this one.
"Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin: Good book, a little slow at times just because of all the names - it was sometimes hard to keep all the characters straight, but overall a good message and really helps a person to understand the true underlying nature of the war, effects, and causes. Sent this to my family as well...
Thanks for the good recommendations - I pulled the last two off this thread. Trying to decide what to read next...Dunclock left me a copy of Dragon Tattoo so I might start that.
