"No matter who has been president, I've always lived my life the way I wanted to, did the things I wanted to do, and loved the people I wanted to love. Why would this change?"

Because I believe the person who was just re-elected as President of the U.S is a muslim and as such does not uphold the values and ideals of most Americans. The change you're referring to may not be felt in the near future, but I believe things will eventually change in such a way that your children may not be able to live the life they want to, nor do the things they want to do nor love those they want to love. I know....sounds crazy. JMO.

My candidate had no shot. Between these other 2, I was torn, just like the US as a whole given the popular vote tally. Both men lie routinely. Romney is a bigtime capitalist, who gives the appearance of a man who'd sell his soul to maximize profits. Obama has done a poor job for 4 years, plus has a smug air about him that makes me want to slap him across the face.

I will pay far more taxes next year, which wouldn't be all bad, except I don't see Obama curtailing spending. I have no desire to pay more unless deficit reduction is a priority. I will say it over and over, 250k does not make a family "rich". Upper middle class, maybe.

4 years ago, I was staunchly opposed to shrillary, whose voice makes my skin crawl. Today, I wish shrillary would have gained the dem nomination in 2008. Her husband was the best Pres we've had recently, and that isn't anything to be taken lightly. I'd have voted for her over both of these assholes.

That said, I will support the Pres and remain hopeful that he proves me wrong. It would also be cool if the Muslim/kenyan vitriol is limited to the extremists and brainwashed few.

With all this behind us, I will take a minute to mention what I feel is the biggest problem in DC. Career politicians are an issue. We shouldn't allow these leaches in congress to serve for more than 6 years, and 4 is more like it. The numbers would indicate that 80%+ of us feel congress is a disgrace, yet we keep voting in incumbents. I can only hope that someday soon term limits are imposed on congress. It would also be prudent to disallow former members of congress from becoming lobbyists, but that is a discussion for another day.

Hey Cie.......

Very well put.

It is by far the career politicians and lobbyists that are truly killing us. The only people these folks care about are themselves and unless the rules change in DC we are in for a deteriorating country no matter who, or what political party is elected.

It's a real shame that Ron Paul is running out of time. :0061
