2014 NFL ML DOG CONTEST

This was a successful and fun contest last year that I ran here. We had somewhere around 100 players. I'm going to do it again this year. Any suggestions for rules changes? I think it ran smoothly but there were a couple suggestions last year that would have worked but I won't change rules after we get started. I forgot what the suggestions were. I want to keep as simple as possible for grading purposes.

These were the simple rules.

I'll open the thread after I get the odds up.

Pick one game using the odds I posted. A win gets added to your total, a loss gets $100 subtracted.

You can miss 3 weeks total, after that your name comes off and you're out.

If you miss 4 weeks I am going to quit tracking your record.

Last year's final standings. A lot of people dropped out during the course of the season. Miss 4 weeks and you're out. I think I'm changing that to 3 or 2 misses and you're out. Maybe no misses.

Regardless of whether the misses are inadvertent, strategic, or whatever.

Sure you can. Depends on the contest.

Madjacks used to have a contest where you picked 5 games ATS every week. But if you posted more than once in that weekly thread, you got 0 points for the week (not -550). And you didn't get booted from the contest for making that mistake . . . And you didn't get booted because you skipped the week entirely, either.

And years ago I won $500 in a Madjacks Monday night contest where you picked both the side and total every Monday. Again, you got 0 points if you posted more than once in the weekly thread, but you didn't get booted from the contest for making that mistake . . .
