This 2-team teaser is in:

Maryland -.5
Navy -.5

I really like this one and it may be my only posted play all week. I believe MD will stay focused and look to revenge last year's loss. This team has completely bought into Locksley and his scheme. I just do not believe you will see much of a let down with them. Still a few question marks with Navy, but I do not see them losing this game at home. I give some props to their coach for realizing some things need to change if they are to be competitive in the league. They have added some passing and made some defensive changes that hopefully makes them better against the pass in a pass happy league. East Carolina is not one of the strongest teams in the league and struggled mightily against NC State. Navy will wear them down.

I like both teams -6.5 (buy off the 7) and will use them in parlays and other teasers, but the tease is my play of the week.

This week's card kind of blows. Not a lot to get excited about.

For tonight I played:

UNC/Wake Ov 66 -110

Based on the first couple games I see two teams that can move the ball and two teams that give up a lot of yards. On paper this game looks like a track meet so I will go with the obvious play.

I will have a little more on the MD game tomorrow, but not much has changed my mind. I see a MD win but will look at the total. I like Navy more and more as I dig in.

I am looking at using the below teams in some teasers (when I do not like a lot in college I tend to play teasers).

UCF - not losing at home to a Stanford team that can not score
NC State - strong defense against a horrible offensive team
Louisville - W KY is bad
UVA - A few year's ago I would have went to this one. UVA wins at home. Under the radar good team.
OK - they could win this game by 40 if UCLA does not improve on offense.

I get it, but the only thing that possibly worries me is that this is a classic let down game (big win and new ranking). BUT, let down games are also somewhat in the hands of the coaching staff in my opinion. From everything that I hear the staff has this team focused and not simply satisfied with the great start. They have them believing they can get better and compete in the conference. They have a bye week coming up which also helps. If the Penn State game were next week I would be a little more concerned. They also have some revenge on their minds as Temple beat them rather bad at home last year. BUT, this is a totally different team on offense. They did not score an offensive TD last year against Temple. That is not going happen this year since MD can now pass the ball.

Having said all that, I do not think this will be a blowout. I like Temple's new coach and his N. Illinois teams gave Big 10 teams fits, including Maryland. Temple is a good defensive team and has had two weeks to prepare. They should be able to pass the ball and score, but I also think they will struggle to run the ball, which will hurt them. Maryland's success on offense last week surprised everyone with the possible exception of the Maryland team and coaching staff. They simply smacked Syracuse in the face early and they could never recover. Jackson seems perfectly suited for this offense (much better than the VA Tech offense) and they can run the ball with the best of teams, which is always key for me when capping any game. I have been writing about MD football for a long, long time and that was one of the more impressive performances I have seen. There is just an air about this team not seen in quite some time. They have no significant injuries and should have Shaq Smith back on defense. It is always tough to be certain about anything with college teams, but everything points to a MD 7-10 point win from my perspective.

Well there goes most of my write up for tomorrow! I am still considering a play on the total.

No problem. I am sure Temple will be a popular play and I see the idiots at ESPN like them, but I feel pretty good about MD (and Navy) winning this game.

Going to play this as soon as book allows teasers on these games. Cannot believe they do not allow teasers until Friday or Saturday. Is that normal?

It is a newer thing at many of the smaller to mid-size books. One of my accounts is a betagame and I am not a fan that they block teasers and parlays in college football until later in the week. It is not gambler friendly and if your book does it I suggest logging in a complaint. There is a lot of competition for money out there and this is a big negative in my book. The only reason to do it benefits the book as they want to give all the time they can to have the smaller lines correct based on betting. They do not do it for the NFL, so why for college?

Thanks for pointing this out. i want to think my book would not let me play a teaser until at least Wednesday. In the CFL i could not even tease one game on one day with another game on the next day. I like that term 'gambler friendly' or 'not gambler friendly. I think too many of the books are screwing things down so tight that they're taking the fun out of things. Ultimately I think their greed could cost them; with sportsbooks being legalized in the states there should be a lot more competition for our money and we shouldn't put up with it. We can just blackball the too greedy ones; but we have to post and let people know who they are, the 'not gambler friendly ones' as you so well put.

Also, a lot of games can be restricted, meaning you can't buy points on them, ie Virginia/Florida St, at least at my book.

I agree that there are some restricted games, but not 2/3rd's of the card. The book is controlling the software and not allowing them on lower lines. At one out I see teasers for some Saturday games, but only for games with big lines, so this proves to me that this is something that the book can control. They are simply choosing not to make that game available probably because their algos are telling them they are better off not taking teaser money so early in the week on more competitive lines. It is simple market manipulation so they can play it to their advantage. DE is as backwards as it gets with sports betting, but if I can go to a casino and lay down a dime teaser or parlay on Tuesday for a game on Saturday, you should be able to do it anywhere. Again, I always complain to any book that is not being fair. Some listen, some blame the software and some pretend to care, but I always mention that I am unlikely to recommend books that are not gambler friendly. Again, some care, most do not which is why I use offshores much, much less than I use to.

There is also a good chance that they offer it to their larger players and not to the smaller ones. I am starting to notice that the same book will offer some bets to one player but not to another.

I would say they limit their potential liability as much as they think they can get with. I think if I ever had a really good size play I would just drive the 2 hrs to Biloxi to make it; I'm assuming the sportsbooks are up and running there? I know the casinos are.

Cannot believe w my book there are only 3 college games with first half lines posted and I still can not play your Navy/Md teaser.
Not one more college game is available for parlays or teasers since yesterday.

Editing the post. Just made deposit elsewhere and jumped on board with your teaser.
Good luck

This is exactly what I did in DE this week!

At least the line moves did not affect the play. There is a lot of Temple love out there and I am seeing some 6.5's now.

Most of my writeup on the Maryland game has already come out in this thread. Nothing has changed my mind on this game and the love for Temple out there only makes me like it more. I am not adding a total play as I think the number is good. I will make a couple of other plays with them, but the tease with Navy remains my best play of the week.

If I hit the total tonight in the Wake game I will add a play or two tomorrow, but limiting the plays as I do not love the card and I have a couple bigger soccer plays tomorrow.

The 3 sites I go to have it MD 75%, 64%,66% ATS .. Maybe the talking heads like Temple, the bettors like MD.

Adding straight bet to Maryland right before kick off as the line keeps going down. Likely will play at -3 -150.

Just a horrible offensive half of football for Maryland and Temple. I was completely wrong with MD being ready for this game. Terrible play calling, terrible QB play (he needs to come out for a series or two), etc. Looks like Locksley and his staff were reading their own headlines (bad play calls, too many man of the field wipes out an interception, illegal formations, etc all piss poor coaching). Not much else to say about how poorly prepared they were for this game. As much credit as I gave Locksley last week, I give him just as much blame for this half.

Having said that, they can not play much worse and are only down by 5 points. If they can get their heads out of their asses on offense they should still win this game. I have to think they come out and play better so I will go down with the ship if I have to:

MD -3

Second and 3 in the red zone I do not understand why they didn?t run for first down.
QB is sulking.
Hope they can get it together.
