Thanks GW

I've been having a lot of trouble falling asleep at night. I think it something to do with the supplements I'm taking. I have a ton of energy though. More over the top than normal. If you through alcohol into the mix, I'm way over the top. Something is really reving me up.

good luck to you Gibber. I do a similar diet once a year (master cleanse diet) right after the super bowl for 14 days and every time I do it I feel great. I have the best sleep ever. I loose about 15-20 lbs. My energy level is better than ever and my blood pressure and cholesterol level are their best.

I always get people telling me that it's not healthy and that our bodies are not designed to handle this kind of strain but after doing this for 5 years I love the benefits and my doctor approves of it.

Day 4

That is good to hear SoCal.. 15-20lbs is my goal..

Yesterday was miserable.. I really had some withdrawals. A pounding headache and no energy all day. I dont drink caffeine so thats not it. Its my body craving all the crap.

Its scary to think that my body is so full of toxins that simply eating healthy food with no chemicals has made me physically sick!

I went to bed early and slept like a baby. The last two days i have slept better than i ever have. And according to the wife... no snoring.

On a side note I have struggled with Acid Reflux disease for 3 years. I usually go through a two week supply of Prilosec in a matter of days. My esophagus was torn to shreads by the time i finally saw a dr.

Today i am happy to report it is completely gone. I have not needed a pill since day 1.

Today i woke up with good energy. I do have a minor headache but hoping to sweat it out tonight at the gym.

Breakfast and lunch are no problem now. I make myself a fruit smoothie in the morning mixed with all the detox powder and it tastes good...

During lunch i am so busy i dont even notice. i just throw a bunch of raw veggies in a bowl and pour olive oil on it.. I quickly shove it down my gullet, wash it down with another shake then run out the door.

Dinner however is still an issue. When i get home i want something that will stick to my ribs! I still crave bread and meat. For God Sakes even vegetarians can have cheese!

We are running out of ideas fast... If anyone can think of any tasty recipes for us i would greatly appreciate it. My taste buds have gone into shock...So please! Please Please help me out.. remember. Veggies only. No beans, cheese, nuts or bread. Tomato Sauce and olive oil are OK

Thats about it for now..

Recipes r tough since u can only have raw veggies.. if they let u have vinegar maybe u can have some fun w/ that.. Mix olive oil w/ red wine vinegar for a good salad dressing...... or pour balsamic vinegar on some tomatoes or other veggies for a snack..

Check out foodnetwork.com to get your ideas flowing.. there's probably a thousand different cole slaws and salads to choose from... tell 'em to give u a break and let u have some vegetarian chili.. :mj07: let a man have some cooked veggies, ya know?

You might want to try hummus. I don't have a real recipe, but here's what I use:

1/4 of an onion (or more if you like onions) Chop up in food processor.

1 can of Garbanzo beans, mostly drained. I open the can, hold three fingers over the top, turn it upside down over the sink quickly, then pour what's left into the food processor. I use Bush's beans. I tried the store brand and they weren't as good.

2 Tablespoons of Tahini (Can skip if you want - tahini is like peanut butter, only made with sesame seeds. If you've never tried it, you may not like it.) You can throw some cashews in instead, if you want.

Juice from 1/2 a lemon (can skip if you want)

Some oregano, garlic, basil and salt to taste. I add about a 2 teaspoons each of oregano, garlic and basil. I don't usually add salt, but sprinkle some on top when it is done.

Turn on food processor on medium and let it go to town.

Add however much olive oil it takes to make it mushy. I would guess 1/8 to 1/4 cup, but I've never measured. I let the food processor grind for at least a minute or two.

Throw a couple of olives on top if you like. It makes a good veggie dip or you can just eat it by the spoonful.

I'm going to have to try this, sounds good and i'm always looking for good homeade dips.

well its day six..

I have lost 8lbs and feeling great! The love handles are being stubborn but you can really see it in my face and neck.

The headaches are gone so i am in good spirits.. Still sleeping amazingly and my enegery levels are through the roof..

Still having some bad cravings however.
Played golf yesterday without having a single beer. PURE TORTURE! Then after everyone met for drinks and nachos.. I had to get out of there. I feel good but the cravings for meat and bread are getting worse instead of better.

4 more days and i can eat some chicken and fish!!!! God i cant wait.

I dont plan on keeping this up forever if thats what you mean. But i will be sure to take better care of myself by eating better and getting more excercise.. also i am going to pay more attention to labels.

the other day i looked at the ingredients in my so called "health bar". jesus i was shocked at all the extra chemicals.

My dad tried to get a healthy snack at the golf course by getting a pack of wheat crackers and peanut butter... I flipped over the label for him. Corn syrup, fructose, artificial sugar, and a rainbow of shit i couldnt pronounce.. Why is all that shit in our food!!!!

Im going to try and eat more whole foods...

Still gonna have a few drinks on the weekends maybe but not 4 and 5 days a week anymore..

I just wanted to jump start my new lifestyle and this is the best way to do it.

The pounds are just melting off

Can you eat artichoke hearts? Drain a jar of those, put the hearts into a food processor with a little olive oil and some thyme or basil and let it go to town. That makes a good drizzle or dip for veggies.

You can also do the same thing with an avacado.

Gibber,

Know what you going through. After lunch you still have that craving for something to feel you up and your stomach is still growling. I hate that crap. For me i eat lots of salads. Been working out 4-5 times a week and eating more healthy. I can actually jog a mile without stopping now. Ive been at it for 3 1/2 months now. I dont eat as much as i use to because the craving isnt there anymore. But i just got back from vacation and i did splurge a little. Havent checked my weight in 3 months but i do feel a lot better since i started working out. Hope it works out for you.
