Oh, that's fantastic - stick us with the tax bill. :)

I'm assuming that you think that you're paying taxes because you're getting a 1099, but you just record the include the income on your tax return and the payments will be included in your deductions, so you won't pay any taxes.

I think logistically, the easiest thing to do would be to just pay for the green fees for everyone and if there's any money left over - open a tab about 3:00 in the bar so that the late golfers can get a good head start. :)

If I didn't answer your question - let me know what parts I missed

i'm not getting a 1099, the money is being bank wired to my business account.

yes, paying for the golf is an option but there will be about 40 bucks left over for the players.

this statement went over my head.

record the include the income on your tax return and the payments will be included in your deductions, so you won't pay any taxes.

and that wouldn't happen because i don't have to send 1099's out unless it goes over $600 or some shit :mj07:

Bobby:

What do I do if I take a deduction assuming I give out legal advice while on the course or apres`golf? Can I write off my hourly rate as a bad debt or uncollectable asset? In addition, can I deduct the mileage and wear and tear on my car to Belterra from my home and back as a business expense? Should I run it through the corp (Sub-s)?

Thanks,
Ed

I would deduct the value of the advice handed out which is probably well in excess of your billable rate. I'd also rent a car as not to ruin your used leased lexus. Can't have that many more miles on it

Include the wire from BetCris as income and record the golf and cocktail disbursments as a deduction on your tax return.

Comprende?
yeah, yeah, yeah. it's easier to just give everybody 100 bucks though but i guess that won't work.

plus, i'll have to keep an eye on kosar, haskell and FDC to make sure they don't run up a $200 each tab :0corn

How about 8 checks jack--$400 to each team captain and he's responsible to pay the members of his team in cash?

--or nine checks -pay for golf and each captain Check for $160 and he pays team members.

Don't think bar tab will work--you got 2 or 3 that would entire tab and some none at all. :)

easiest way for me and you guys too.

then i'll put all the receipts in a brown envelope and send to my accountant :D

slick, i see 3 options

#1 give players $100like u said. Pain in AZZ

#2 do like bbc said, u pay for all golf, what is left go toward a get together before or after (which will include signifticant others more) if its more you pay & can right it off your taxes then collect a little from everyone (ppl know what they ate & drank). i know i give some of YOUR $$$ back i won at poker

#3 all mj'ers at casino friday nite meet at roullette table at midnight, vote red or black, majority wins & bet it all on one spin
if we lose its back to original plan, ppl pay for golf. If it wins pay for golf & we can have one HELLOFA party. or place abet on baseball with betcris

Jack-

Really, you should just pay for all golf and slap down $XXX for a bar tab at the course as people come in to the clubhouse. Have the staff cut it off when it hits your limit.

That way you have receipts for exactly waht you brought in from the sponsor. As long as that happens, you owe zero dollars in taxes.
