Why have a "pet" that may kill your kid no matter how well you treat it?
I used to think Pit Bulls got a bad rap, but that story of the 4 year old seriously erased any of the 25% I had the defended the breed.

I don't really have a solid stance on this issue other than it seems I hear about pit bulls causing the most problems of any other breed.
I do appreciate FDC being so passionate about it.

A few years back I was terrified of pit bulls. Then my son got one, and then he got another one. I was afraid for my granddaughters. At first I was very careful when I was around them. Then, I got to know them and they got to know me. They are great dogs. I started to realize that they got a bad rap especially after I did some serious research about them. Now, I'm like you and back to square one. I don't know what to do about my 8 year old granddaughters. A situation where I can't win. :facepalm:
You're correct, I absolutely do know all this and more. It's a passion of mine and a cause I believe deeply in. Nick is an intelligent guy and very capable of making an educated decision on his own without my input. As a matter of fact, I am an advocate for all animals that cannot speak for themselves. The thing is, Pit Bulls happen to be a hot topic at present. Most people have an opinion one way or another and most of those opinions are based on information specifically vetted to make them sway to one side. I am not asking anyone to bring a pit bull into their home. I didn't ask anyone to make their kids play with them either. I simply ask that if people are going to speak out on a subject, be educated with facts. People spend more time learning to play craps than they do researching the truth as it relates to this misunderstood breed. That is our nature. Human beings are straight out killers. We kill everything we touch, everything we see. We seem to be the only animal that has to have something to blame. Whether it be dogs, cats, weather, or each other. Ultimately, we will destroy ourselves. We will destroy everything, and you're afraid of a dog because you heard on the news that they were mean?
I don't get the infatuation with dogs? Can't you guys live a happy life without having a dog in it?
You are "an advocate for all animals that cannot speak for themselves"? Does that mean parrots and the talking horse"Mr. Ed" do not get your support?
After reading some of your posts, let me know if you need representation, because you're certainly dumber than any dog I have ever dealt with.
