No, no they don't. Saudi Arabia will not even take one immigrant in! Yet they can't wait to blame Europe and the US for not doing anything. The Muslims have to clean up their own act or we will go broke trying to do it for them.

I'm sorry, but you've been misinformed about that as well. A few articles to refute the inaccuracies reported.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) cited an official source in the foreign ministry as saying that the kingdom found it "important to clarify these efforts with facts and numbers in response to media reports, which included false and misleading accusations about the kingdom".

The source said Saudi Arabia had received nearly 2.5 million Syrians since the conflict erupted.

"(The kingdom) was keen to not deal with them as refugees, or to put them in refugee camps, to preserve their dignity and safety, and gave them complete freedom of movement."

"(The kingdom) gave whoever chose to stay in the kingdom, which are in the hundreds of thousands, proper residency ... with all the rights that are included like free health care and engaging in the workforce and education."

"However, it?s not difficult to see why those fleeing Syrians haven?t headed southward en masse. Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states aren?t exactly famous for their hospitality toward low-income foreign nationals."

It's a far more complex issue than simply stating that muslims aren't helping muslims, which is largely erroneous to begin with.

Peace! :)

Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed is seen next to his 14-year-old son, Ahmed Mohamed, who was arrested on Monday for bringing a homemade clock to his Texas high school.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

The father of the Muslim teenager, who was arrested for bringing a homemade clock to school, is a Sudanese immigrant who went from selling New York City hot dogs to twice running for president in his native country.

Mohamed ElHassan, who stood beside his son Ahmed Mohamed Wednesday and expressed how "proud" he is of him, grew up in an African village before moving to the U.S. to achieve the American dream, the North Dallas Gazette reported.

"Once I realized my dream was bigger than what Sudan had to offer I immigrated to America in the mid-1980s," the father of seven told the paper in February.

Though college educated, the hardworking dad said his philosophy degree from Cairo University wasn't accepted in the states, so he had to start from the ground up ? first hitting the streets of New York as a vendor before moving his family to Dallas and working as a taxi driver, all while taking classes at a community college.

ElHassan went on to create his own taxi company which he later sold to Yellow Cab, he said.

One of the earliest instances of the standout citizen making national news was in 2011, when he sensationally stood up to an anti-Islamic pastor and defended the Koran as its defense attorney. That mock trial at a Florida church ended with the book's burning, to ElHassan's claimed shock.

In an interview with the Washington Post at the time, the devoted Muslim said he'd take on Rev. Terry Jones' challenge because the holy book teaches that Muslims should engage in peaceful dialogue with Christians.

He also admitted that he wanted to take his family to nearby Disney World and "kill two birds with one stone."

That wasn't his only instance of fame back then.

In 2010, and again this year, the busy dad was nominated and ran for president of his native North African country from his home in Texas.

"Mr. ElHassan is no stranger to adversity and experienced hardship firsthand, and during his lifetime has cultivated a deep sense of humanitarianism, tolerance and patience," his latest campaign's website read.

He further credited a Sufi spiritual leader and mentor in Africa for inspiring him with "wisdom and leadership."

Today, ElHassan serves as a mentor at Jack E. Singley Academy High School in Irving and also as the vice president of the National Reform Party in Sudan, the Gazette reported.

"We have been here in this house for more than 30 years. We love it. We love all the people here," he said Wednesday while standing beside his family outside their Irving, Texas home.

Among his many accomplishments, one of his proudest, he said, is having raised his 14-year-old son.

This is the digital clock which was mistaken as a bomb earlier this week.

"I'm proud of him," he said before crediting him as "a very smart, brilliant boy."

"He fixed my car, my electricity, my phone, my TV, his go-cart, my computer. I swear it's the truth," he gushed.

Despite his upset with local police and school administers' handling of his son, he continued to speak highly of his country.

"I'm grateful to the United States of America," he said. "What's happening is touching the heart of everyone who has children, and that is America."

ElHassan recognized that all people make mistakes but said that the treatment that his son experienced, "in front of his friends and his teacher inside of his school ? that is not America. That is not us. That is not like us."

if the articles are true then I stand corrected. I would still like to see some sort of outrage when the terrorists strike.

Excellent. Except that you are glossing over the simple fact that the kid was ARRESTED! Not up for debate, no denial. Even the police chief admitted to it. Were your other examples arrested as well?!!

"Irving Police Chief Larry Boyd said "the officers pretty quickly determined that they weren't investigating an explosive device" and that the arrest was made over the prospect that it was a 'hoax bomb' intended to scare people at the school ? "something that is not really a bomb, but is designed and presented in a way that it creates people to be afraid."

Host Chris Hayes, who pointed out that no bomb squad was called to the scene and that the school was not evacuated, asked: "But he never called it a bomb, right? He just kept calling it a clock. I mean, it never came out of his lips, he never did something or started showing it around saying 'Look at this bomb I have.'"

Boyd responded: "There definitely was some confusion and some level of information that didn't come out immediately."

Peace! :)

Pity Really

Nuff Said

A 90 year old WW2 Vet and his 90 year old wife had to take their shoes off to get on a plane. But somehow we were wrong when we asked a Muslim to do it. They seem able to speak up about profiling but not about terrorists actions.

if the articles are true then I stand corrected. I would still like to see some sort of outrage when the terrorists strike.

Here's another great example, albeit a tad long, from Queen Rania of Jordan as she is awarded the Walther Rathenau prize.

"Our country hosts 1.4 million Syrians. That's 20% of our population. This is despite the fact that we're burdened by poverty and unemployment. Still, we do our best with what we have. And I couldn't be more proud of the selflessness and kindness of Jordanians."

And in terms of "outrage," I can tell you with certainty that all of those that I interact with react similarly to us whenever the crazy terrorists strike. I would hazard a guess that the majority of "normal" Muslims are just as outraged and offended (if not more so), but "we" simply aren't privy to the information.

Peace! :)

MAYBE, just maybe, it has more to do with the stories the media selects to publicize than the actual truth and what is really happening???

However, if you're anti-Muslim for whatever reason, then I'm not here to attempt to change your mind. So there's that.

Peace! :)

From an engineer friend
"As you know - my degree is in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. So, as someone with some appreciable expertise, I analyzed the "home made clock" that the kid in Irving was supposed to have "invented" and taken to school. First, it is NOT a simple alarm clock. It is a COUNTDOWN clock. Second -- the kid didn't home make or invent anything. He decomposed an already existing commercially available COUNTDOWN clock (as evidenced by the commercially manufactured Printed Circuit Board (PCB)) as shown in the picture of his device.

If the kid were to "home make" or "invent" a clock -- he would have used a breadboard (as I have added to the picture) wherein one inserts integrated circuits, wires, and capacitors, resistors, etc., to form the logic of such a device.

So, question: why did the kid take apart an already existing COUNTDOWN clock and build it into a briefcase where only the LEDs were visible counting down time? What would happen at any airport, building, school, public sidewalk, if such a device were spotted?

Question: what is in the white bag in the suitcase? It serves no electronic purpose. Hmmmm.

Do you want anyone to bring a briefcase with COUNTDOWN clock embedded within it and setting the clock to countdown and go off during English class in your kids schools? Again, the only thing visible on the outside of the briefcase were the LEDs counting down time to 00:00.

I smell a dirty rat, a setup here, if there ever was one. I am appalled that the media is buying into the innocent "inventor" story. This is not about race or religion -- it is about someone purposefully taking a menacing device to school.

What if a kid were to take an upper from one AR-15 rifle, and a lower from another AR-15 rifle and put it together, then remove the firing pin and take it to school as a metal worker "inventor"? Why, anyone who knew anything about rifles could closely examine the metal object had no firing pin and would celebrate what a great inventor the kid was!!! NOT!!!! How many people at a school could closely examine the inside of this briefcase with a countdown clock visible on the outside counting down to 00:00 and make the call as to its purpose? Again, what is inside that white bag?
