With maybe the lone excpetion of Houston +10, I gotta agree with gjn.

With green QBs, this game will be won in the trenches and UM has vastly superior lines on both sides of the ball.

That is why I singled out Miami as old faithful, meaning it should hit no problem. It is definitely going to be my first big money game. Houston is my next favorite, followed by UF.

I hate to agree but there's nothing more golden than betting against the Noles in that game. We find a way to phuck it up every year. I'm glad it's the 1st game of the year. Get the damn thing over with.

Wide left, wide right. Kick the phucker straight for once!

I like UF too. Those 3 may be my only plays for the first week.

As a UF grad and follower, I try not to comment on too many UF plays to keep from being labeled as a homer (even though I play against them quite a bit).

Regardless of the respectable season Wyoming had last year and the good QB and WR play they will have this year, the (a) first Meyer game played (b) in early Sept. (I dont care if the game time gets set for 7pm - it'll still be hot and humid as hell) has all the makings of an easy cover.

The line is low because of last year's Utah/Wyo score (in which Utah called the dogs off in the 3Q) and the fact that Zook & Stevie typically had a hard time getting the troops inspired to walk the dog on the Fla A&Ms of the world for teh first game of the year. I think Meyer is going to look to send a message (dominate for 4 quarters - something Zook never seemed to grasp)and those northern lungs just wont cope, especially in the 2nd half (may not be a bad idea to play a UF/2nd half line if UF isn't more than half way to covering by halftime).

Good luck on your plays.

to be even more of a homer....i really like Arizona over Utah on Fri Sept 2nd

I've heard the line was anywhere from 7-10 (dont know for sure)

In all honestly we probably played Utah the toughest of any opponent they had last year.....now they lose smith, a few wr, have some early injuries as well as losing their coaching staff.......i look for a HUGE effort from the Arizona defense which will be one of the best in the pac-10 this year and a very close game. Stoops knows that this is a game that could propel us to a winning season and a bowl appearance as well as a few more national TV matchups....with nau, purdue, @ cal and @sc on deck this is a key game for the program.

(imagine that sec fans...starting a season out with 3-5 raod games and 4-5 vs ranked teams)

Why the stab at the sec? I don't care if you jump in my thread and offer up your picks and opinions, but can we please move past the SEC/PAC-10 trash talk and concentrate on trying to break the books?

I also looked at that AZ/Utah game and liked Arizona. This will be a big game for Stoops, and I feel like +9 is a little high.

didnt really think it was 9 but i'll take it

our offense will be improved...but still one of the weaker in the pac-10...but our defense will be awesome....the db is rated one on the best in the nation...always love defensive minded dogs early in the season vs teams with new coaches/coordinators/and skill players.....arizona fits the bill.....as a homer im sure i'll have arizona on the ml as well.

AU2001's

I already bet about 4 plays and Houston is one them. I think Houston is your best bet. On the flip side, I think V-Tech is your worst bet. I am on the other side in that one. Good luck on the rest of the plays and the year.

With you and Thunder taking Auburn under, I think I will jump on board as well. It makes sense too.

Pinnacle and Betmill.

I have 4 wagers placed at those 2 books. Deposit $400 at betmill and get powersweep free. ($135 value) + 10% cash bonus. Nice deal. Pinny limits are small for right now.

I love VT in this spot by double digits. Better defense and special teams, plus revenge factor. What's your reason for liking NC State?

Sorry for the delay response. Forgot to look back at this thread. I really like NC St. It is a big play for me. I have them +6 and will be taking them on ML as well. Marcus Vick is vastly over-rated. Chuck Amato for NC ST. needs this game badly after going under 500 last year. Both defenses are strong but I think NC St. has better front 7. I see a ton of value with the home team getting 6pts. NC St. should cash in. :yup

VT is an excellent road team and Vick should be as effective as Jay Davis (12 TD, 15 INT last season). That kid is terrible. So even if Vick turns out to be over-rated, he will still be better than Davis. Chuck Amato may need this game, but unfortunately he will not be wearing pads come gametime. VT by 13.

Scott, if it is any consolation, I do not like to see you on the other side as I do respect your handicapping.

One of us will win. :) DUH! That is the scary part of betting the 1st week of season. You don't really have anything to go on. Vick may be like his brother for all we know. Nobody knows for sure. If he is, then I might be screwed. I also hate betting against mobile QB's. They give me the fits! But my money is on the coach who desperately needs to win this game, has a great defense, at home, getting pts, against an inexperienced QB who I think might be over-rated. But I am a big Beamer fan and I know his team will always be well coached.

This game is going to be decided in the 4th quarter, and I like my chances with the underdog getting almost a TD at home. The line keeps on rising! :)

Scott, if it is any consolation, I do not like to see you on the other side as I do respect your handicapping.

Thanks and right back at ya!
