Well if not all of them then pull that one. Alot cheaper and what do you need it for? You can save at least 8000 or more.

Here is what you would look like. You can barely notice

don`t they have those partials that you can use without the hooks?..

A dental flipper is the least expensive way to replace a missing tooth. Often it is used as a temporary tooth replacement while you wait for a dental bridge or for healing after a dental implant is placed.

flipper.jpg
A dental flipper is made out of acrylic. It is made by taking an impression of your mouth, and then a plaster cast is poured. The cast is sent to a laboratory with a prescription that includes the shade of the tooth. An acrylic tooth is selected that most closely matches the shade of your teeth, and a pink plate is molded to fit your palate (on the upper) or to fit just inside the tongue side of your teeth (on the lower).
flipper-v.jpg
For a little extra cost, :mj07: wires with little ball ends can be placed to help secure the dental flipper in your mouth. Otherwise, it is secured by the pink acrylic snapping between your teeth.

A variation is the Valplast flipper, pictured at left. Valplast is more flexible than the traditional acrylic that a flipper is made of, and can be made translucent for enhanced esthetics in some situations.

While a dental flipper is meant to be temporary, some people wear them for years. They press somewhat on the gums and so are not very healthy for the gums. They also break easily, and it can be difficult to eat with them-they may not be strong enough to eat on and may have to be removed for meals.

i just read this...

"I had a bad implant of tooth #10 and was taken out on 8/14/2008. The doctor did a bone grafting on the site by using BMP-2. I think they use some kind of membrane close the bone grafting area under the gum. They told me BMP-2 will cause a lot of swelling and the swelling will go away slowly. Last Sat. , they checked me and said now I am ok. ..

The bone grafting made #10 area very bulky. Now when I smile, I notice my lip looks asymetrical because of the bulky area underneath...Is this correctable? Any idea? How should I proceed?

Will that bulkiness go away over time? The surgical area is still very soft, I think the bone has not become solid yet. "

i think your gums will be o.k. with the flipper if you keep flossing regularly...you don`t have to wear it around the house....

that`s alot of cabbage ,man...after shelling out home owner`s,car insurance, fed, state and property taxes and my own dental bill i`m still sore.....

Well, since I have to wear that flipper for about 60 days no matter what, I'll make my decision later down the road. Christ!

Your decision will be over after bout 30 days--trust me.

You won't even notice flipper--nor will anyone else--and its over and done with.

You opt for other route--additional cost not biggest issue "this time" but surely you don't think this will be the end of it--it won't last forever.

Not sure why but in the last two weeks everything that someone posts health wise I have had something similiar.

Go to dentist three weeks ago. Filling came out of back bottom tooth. Constant pain and they couldnt get me in for a few weeks.

Using that ambesol by the bottle.

Get in the dentist and he says well I can do a root canal for 1000 bucks, get it ready for a crown for 1500 bucks and some other costs.

Or I can pull it for 250.

Thats a no brainer so I say lets pull that bitch.

He said I had strong bones and he had to crack it in half to get it out. He was almost standing on the chair pulling . And a few times he slipped and slammed my upper teeth with his metal instrument. Shit fire !

he had to put stitchs in my gum to keep me from bleeding out and dying on the way fawking home.

So I get home and I am totally numb. I take the hydorcodine pain pills.

After a few days its better. But I didnt realized how big that fawking tooth was. It seems like a 3" gap is back there. Son of a bitch. My cheeks may implode at some point.

I can get a implant for 5,000 I think he said.

Its no wonder we wait to go to the dentist until its absoultely necessary. They charge too much the rat bastids.
