Everyone knows the best beef in the country comes from Iowa.
Yep, got to agree with you there too. However, I've eaten many Nebraska/Iowa steaks and they are both very, very good and I can't see much of a difference. I'll go out on a limb here (and catch some heat) and say both states produce better steaks than Texas. Look out, the haters will start to hate.....

I will second that, reds.
There is a place here in town that sells prime. You can't beat a prime porterhouse
Get all my beef from a farm an hour from here. No growth hormones and the only drugs the cows get is mandated by law.
Very rare for me to eat a steak in a restaurant since I've always got finer meat in my freezer than what they are serving.
A dozen lobsters for a steak seems reasonable.
Going to be in Vermont next week; come on down and we can discuss it over some beers and football...
Local place here sells wet aged delmonicos. Can't beat it over a quick pounding on a 700 degree charcoal bed.
A dry aged steak is always better than a wet aged steak. Issue is you typically can't get dry aged in any store or from a butcher really, need to go directly to a processor.

Down to Vermont......
That's common vernacular for Midwestern shlubs. Don't ask me why.
Very true. Although in Sports' case, Vermont is south of Maine, so he would actually be traveling 'down'.
I'm always amused when in conversation I'll mention going to Wisconsin several times a year and get as a reply-- "why do you go down there so often?"
