There are plenty of people in roles of corporate management and are in CEO roles that merely started by getting out of college and working in a business because of their college degree - nothing more. It's not like they are employing anyone in reality, are operating a business, etc. Many got their jobs due to friends, family, who they knew. And they get credit for a hell of a lot more than they should, and are placed on a higher level than other graduates (letter winners/owners) that are not in those roles, and are credited with all kinds of shit.
They make a ton of money, often manage companies that don't do very well, or perform through no real input from them that matters, and are credited with employing people, etc. It seems that unless you are a CEO or in a position of management these days, you are looked down upon by conservatives. Which is kind of ironic, when listening to their rhetoric and value system which often includes the phrase "hard work."
