While driving to Oklahoma Monday I got a phone call from one of my kids dad that I coach for and he informed me that his son Jackson Roberts the best ten year old baseball player in Lubbock was accidentally shot and killed with a shot gun at ten feet away by his older 14 year old brother. I coached Jackson and have been personally training his older brother Bobby for the past two summers with pitching. I ask any of you that love baseball, as it was everything to Jackson to please help me out as I am setting up a fund with Southwest Little League here in Lubbock, Texas to keep his name alive and also recognize the need for safety with children around guns. The parents both work for me as Jacksons mom is my housekeeper and his dad Rebel is my snow service foreman for servicing all the Walmart parking lots here. Rebel has stage two Parkinson's disease and pretty much walks like a infant. I welcome all of you to check out this story and Google Jackson Roberts and see the beautiful video the family has put together, It made me cry for twenty minutes but in the end I realize god must of needed a youth pitcher on the largest stage in the world, HEAVEN.

if any of you would like to donate which is 100% tax deductible , please make a check out to

Wow! Just a horrible story. I can't imagine what that kid will go through his entire life after that accident. And the parents too. Just horrible.

I'll send out a donation.

Jack

Thank you so much. The good thing is Bobby is the smartest kid of his school, won the presidential award the past two years. These kids only played baseball, and the parents did everything to make sure they got everything they needed and drove the kids to every away game and tournament for me the past two years. His dad is the one I am really worried about, clean and sober for the past 19 years and has Parkinson's and most of their money goes too his medications each month. They have no extra money, but when I asked what they needed, they only asked me to raise money to keep their son's name alive in the sport he loved and played year round, BASEBALL. It breaks my heart knowing the condition his dad is in and hearing when Jackson was shot he ran into his dad's arms outside on the cabins deck and died in his arms. I cried for twenty minutes Jack when I saw the video, such a beautiful child and we miss him so much all ready. Funeral is today and it's one I am not looking forward to by any means, were dressing up as a team and sitting in the front. And to make matters tougher I have to get up and talk about this player of mine for the past two years who was my favorite player and best mannered kid on my team. School has been let out and there will be a full church. I thank god for my strong faith because it is all we have in a time like this.

Again I thank you, ARROW

UPDATE

UPDATE

AS OF YESTERDAY AT 9 P.M. , I have raised 3000. I have to raise 5000 to get this little guy a field named after him. Thank you Jack for making a donation. If anyone else from the site would like to help me, please read the address and details on how to make a 100% tax deductible donation to a wonderful cause. Thank you to anyone who loves the game of baseball as much as this ten year old did. The funeral yesterday was the worst in history, and I pray none of you ever have to go through such a sad event for such a fun loving kid. Happy Holidays, hug your children, tell them you love them!
