Jack or anyone else.....you might want to look at taking Apple Cidar Vinegar. I had Acid Reflux for ?? years and had it so bad that I would have to sleep semi-upright. Long story short I was taking Pantaloc which really helped and then I ran out so between geting back to the Dr'S for a repeat I tried ACV and believe me it worked. It's burns like hell when it goes down, burns bad but it worked. I just took it straight, 2 tablespoons and to this day I still take a tablespoon daily.....I NEVER WENT BACK for my repeat.

My Ex was worse than me with it and as much as she hated me being right she agreed it worked for her.

You might want to check it out. Here's just a ??

I just took my first dose and am going to give this a try. I'll just take a swig from the bottle every morning instead of the pill and see what happens.

I thought it tasted pretty good

It's not bad. I do a shot 2-3 times a day of it.

Took a little getting used to, but overall I've had way worse.

My reflux is all but gone at this point.

GOOD STUFF Jack :0074

I actually like the taste myself but I'm used to it. If you google it for more info you'll see other benefits also.

Don't know how to prevent getting it Jack--but this is most inexpensive and immediate relief I've found.

Nothing over the counter works for me. Nothing. Well, prevacid is over the counter now and that works but expensive as hell.

Right now I'm taking Nexium and have a nice supply of Prevacid for a backup.

I'm not going to take anything today except the ACV and see what happens. :0008 Gonna see how long I can go before I have to take the prescription I have.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Jarrow's Acidopholous product (capsules)

Jarrow's Acidopholous product (capsules)

Refrigerated section health food store...friendly stomach bacteria (help with digestion and stuff) which are easily destroyed by meds.

This is a totally natural product, a lot safer than using more chemicals, or prescriptions.

Take em twice a day and your problem will pretty much disappear in a week.

Take them as a preventitive a couple times a week.

Have you tried Omeprezalone (sp?). Was prescribed prevacid but got tired of paying so much for it. Tried this out and it has worked just fine. I take 1 every morning. Every now and then I'll have to take another one at night.

It is still expensive (I think around $20 for 42 tabs), but cheaper than anything else I have found that works.

The newly added Prevacid to OTC will definitely work.

So far, so good, today on the ACV. I plan on 1 tablespoon morning with coffee, before lunch, and before dinner, from what I have read.

It helps with weight loss too :0074

That's what I had to do.....sleep upright but not since I've been taking ACV.

Ok, so how is the ACV working for everone? Thinking about trying it. Been on dexilant(kapidex) and I am not sure if it is working. Plus $50 a month is starting to add up.

I have been taking ACV for years, but mix it in a smoothie, instead of taking it straight. I would suggest mixing it w/ some water and honey to make it a little more tolerable. I can't imagine taking that stufff straight. Wouldn't think it would be to good for the esophagus, and I think I have also read about what Morris stated about it not being good for tooth enamel.

I went 4 days taking the ACV and not taking my Nexium and all was going good but then it hit me. I had the WORST HEARTBURN IN MY LIFE! It hit me all at one time like it had been saving it up. I thought I was going to die and nothing helped to relieve it. It probably took about 10 hours for the Nexium (double dose) to take effect and relieve me.

I'll get back on the ACV but I will not quit taking the Nexium until I am 100% convinced I won't get hit like that again. Whew!
