Like PAWA said last week, we should be used to it, but it looks another strange week ahead?
West Coast @ 1.60ish look reasonable value. They've bounced back from their previous losses with big home wins.
Freo haven't beaten anyone of note recently (Dogs and Melbourne were both seriously under-manned, Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond).
Eagles without Embly, Matera and ?? over Cox (who'd be a huge loss)...although a quick look at last time they met, neither Matera or Embly did much...and Stenglein didn't play. (might have just talked myself into it!
)
They beat Freo by only 8 points in Rd. 3, but they were 8 points, so they really should have won by more.
Definately talked myself into it....If Cox is right to go, then West Coast @ 1.60 looks a good play to me.
Geelong @ 1.50? Can either side feild a team atm? No-one can remember the last time Melbourne won @ Geelong...was before 1990 anyway! Still, the Cats are hardly goiong like 1.50 favs atm. Will wait for final teams....
St. Kilda look a bit short @ 1.30, but should win I guess...Although Thompson/Rocca could have a big day without Hudgeton...esp. if Ackland doesn't get up.
Kangas won last meeting, but Saints had 56 inside 50's to 44, and Riewoldt and Kositzke were missing so it could be a different story this time around...Not sure I could take the -22.5 tho...
Collingwood/Carlton? Good Luck predicting a) who'll win, and b) who'll want to!
Can't split them statistically...don't really want to try!
I do think Adelaide are good value @ 1.50. Port have the good head-to-head record, but the Crows are simply a much better team this year. Their total forward line melt-downs do continue to worry me, but they just shuold have so much more of the ball that it won't matter. Allowing an av. of 59 points a game at home, +15.4 inside 50's at home and thumped Port by 68 last meeting.
Can't really see Brisbane beating Sydney without Leppitch or Brown. Again, not sure if 1.50 is the best value for the Swans, but they do seem to be getting the job done.
Are the Hawks a chance? On the surface you'd think the Bombers were reasonably good things, but Everitt should have a field day in the ruck, and no Fletcher could be costly with Croad starting to play well as a forward. Essendon only won the last meeting by 2 points with Fletcher and Laycock in the side...I guess the odds are about right. I won't be touching it.
Doggies!!!...Well, tbh, 1.30 is a bit short I would have thought. Bit too much hype around about the Dogs atm. Sure, they're playing pretty well, but the reality is that this is 2 teams with the same amount of wins for the season, and Richmond won the first meeting.
-22.5 is probably the option, but tough to tke the Dogs as favs, given their poor defense and 'ability' to go an hour without scoring!
Well, as you can see, I was a bit bored...putting off going to the gym actually! :cursin:
Will definately be interested to hear what everyone else thinks about this w'end. :mj14:
