I've got a home game tonight too.

Agent, I've seen you post where you run local games.

What are the "house" rules? What games? What stakes?

We play all kinds of different games, dealer calls. Low limits. Lots of fun.

We have a tourney before hand, then play 4-8 structured with a "kill" to 8-16. We play 2 round..Holdem and Omaha high :)

Jack I just sent you the directions from the other way :mj07: so will resend from I70

We play a tournament. When the tournament is over we play a cash game. 4-8 is the betting limit. We play two rounds..Holdem and Omaha. That means every time the dealer button makes it around the table we switch games, play a round of that and then switch again next time. A "kill" means if someone wins two pots in a row, the very NEXT hand is 8-16 instead of 4-8 or in other words the betting is doubled. That holds until that person doesnt win the pot. Now you are obligated to come Steve, I will send you directions :)

Can you explain that rule? What is the purpose? Thanks.

Scott, lots of Casinos and other places add a "kill" to the game to increase action. The typical way it is played is if someone wins two in a row. Other times it can be if the pot is over a certain amount, say 100.00. Then it stays a kill until there is a pot that is under that amount. I know it sounds weird, why not just play 8-16 but it adds an exciting element to the game. Also games can be played with a "half kill" or in other words after 2 in a row, the limit would go to 6-12 instead of 8-16. Also the person that wins the kill has to post a "live" 8.00 no matter where he is at the table. So when the betting gets to him pre flop he can check or he has an option to raise it up. So you get a button that says "leg up" on one side and "kill" on the other. When someone wins a pot you shove them the pot along with the button that says "leg up" Now watch this guy call 4 bets pre flop with 9-2 suited to "protect" his leg up and you see it REALLY loosens up a game :)

Interesting. Thanks for explanation. What is the average bankroll someone must take to play at your house at these particular limits and rules? Just curious.

Scott, the buy in for the tourney is 30.00 with 3 25.00 rebuys allowed in the first hour. The buy in for the cash game is 100.00 but 2-300 is more realistic. Most guys bring 3-500 for the night...
