This is my first post on this forum, even though I've been reading different posts for about a year now. I'm a student at UA and went 11-1 on their games last year and so far 2-2 this season. Here is what I say on Bama v. Florida. First off, I'm not touching this game with a 10 foot pole. But as much as it kills me, take Florida -4 if you really wanna bet it. The reason is look at Bama's recent history in Bryant-Denny. The Tide hasn't won a big game in Tuscaloosa since 1994 when Bama beat Georgia at the end. Some say the '99 game v. Miss State was big because State was undefeated but they were playing a high school schedule. Like I said...I wouldn't touch this game because Bama is talented enough to win, but can you trust Shula in a big game?? Leave it alone or put a small amount on Florida -4.

Picks for the rest of the week:

Miami OH -10 (buy to 9.5) = 2 Units

Rutgers - PK = 2 Units (Pitt sucks!)

Bowling Green -28 v. Temple = 15 units!!! (someone let me know if I'm missing something here!)

Virginia Tech -10.5 (buy to 10) = 3 units

Texas -15 v. Missouri = 3 units

Ariz. State +17 v. USC = 2 units

Michigan State -5.5 & Over 56 parlay = 3 units
(Over 56 = 7 units)

Marshall -12 v. SMU = 3 units

Virginia -4 @ Maryland = 3 units

New Mexico +3 @ TCU = 3 units

good luck to all and let me know if you have any good info!

Roll Tide!

Thats not what he said. He said he went 11-1 on Alabama's games last year, not every game he bet on.

First of all, Welcome and thanks for your contribution.... Look forward to seeing more of you this season....

Secondly, because you ask the question, here's what you may be missing.... MONEY MANAGEMENT. I'm not saying that you will lose this play, but IMHO, there is never a reason to play one single game that much harder than the rest of your games.... To each his own, but personally, I rarely bet more than 2 units (double my normal wager) on any single game...just seems like a fast way to go broke.... Grind it out, that's my motto. Best of luck this week.... :)

I went 11-1 on Alabama games alone last year. Ended up ahead for the season but don't know my final record. I play about that many games per week. And the BG game is just my best bet and I feel really good about it, that's why I'm laying the house down.

What do you mean for the house thing ? Dude,in my family thats a big thing. We value property. What better reason to kill a guy, people have been killed for a lot less. I'm talking about her house.

:mj07: Very funny dickhead!

Factoid: UA is 0-5 against top 5 opponents in Bryant-Denny stadium. Even though they still claimed national championships some of those years!

I know that Marshall is better than they showed last week and is very very tough at home. After losing to UCF, no doubt they're pissed and ready to play. Southern Methodist had one fluke game against TCU and now they're back in reality. I don't know a ton about either team, I just know Marshall at home is a good bet and I think the line is a little low based on their performance last week.

But as much as it kills me, take Florida -4 if you really wanna bet it. The reason is look at Bama's recent history in Bryant-Denny.

Road team is already 4-0 ATS in Bama games this year, and I think it will be 5-0 after Saturday.

theres been 150 bets made on the BG game at carib, only 9 have taken the pts .... Initially I was all over BG for all the obvious reasons but then took a small FH bet ... even now with every square and his sister hopping on them, Im dubious

This will be a close game. Alabama healthy at Tuscaloosa will be tough to beat. My only worry is will Alabama be outcoached in second half like 04 when they held an undefeated Auburn scoreless in the entire first half. Auburn only crossing the 50 yardline one time. An Auburn offense that had 3 first round picks. If I was capping the game I would have put it at FLA -2- or 3.

Alabama is 0-3 ATS this year at home. All 3 of the games were double digit spreads ranging from -13 to -22. Alabama is 1-0 on the road ATS, in that game they were 2 point favorites against South Carolina, they won 37-14. Florida is 0-1 as a road favorite.

Take the Auburn guys opinions in here with a grain of salt. They are still upset that Auburn was taken out of any chance at a National Chamionship last year after being dominated by Alabama in the first half. Their are many fans here such as the ones commenting betting on emotion rather than logic.
I am probably not going to play this game. I know that Alabama can cover the nut. But can Shula? We will see, the honeymoon is over for him. If does not win with a healthy QB (Alabama QB missed most of last year. He is very talented.) He will be gone. Im not trying to steer anyone one way or another. Even if you don't play the game, watch it. It will be a great game. BOL this weekend!

Factoid. Auburn was declared the 2004 national champion by The Opelika News.
