I am about 97% sure that I won't make it to Miami but I am willing to make some fun little wagers with you guys on the REAL National Championship Game. If you are going to the Super Bowl party, how about dinner or a few drinks as a bet? If not, maybe an avatar change or I will post something on my page. Let me know if you guys have any ideas. Nothing serious here, just for fun. If there are any other USC fans coming to Vegas for the SB party, let me know and maybe you can join me for my free drinks from BahamaMama, redsfann (are you going?) and the gang. Whaddya'll think?

Your team is still going home without a title 1/3/03 so I'd prepare to run & hide.

TCSN,

Since you are so convinced...what will happen to this planet if OSU?

Answer me now....IF

So don't say "they won't"....IF

Everyone expects Miami to win, even I admit they should win...but if they lose bro, you better hide or else all the OSU folk on here will come after you with their pitch forks!

personally, i don't care who wins... as long as it is a great game!

But if OSU won, it would be a bonus...its all about sportsmanship

unfortunately, some on here don't know what the hell that word means...

yeah, I'm also curious how this is "the real national championship game" when both teams have L's and neither Ohio St. or Miami have any.

sounds good to me Nick!!!!! and agree, it *is* the real National Championship Game ;)

Hard to go for a *drinks* bet out in vegas, since you never have to pay for them anyway...but we can come up with something....like the user has to SERVE the winner their drinks at the parties. :D Would love to just stay seated all night ;)

I would have sworn a month+ or so ago, these OSU fans were saying how glad they were not to have to play Iowa this year. and now they think they belong in the championship game without even being able to prove they were the best in their conference.

Nick

While I am waiting for you to come in here I have a question so I thought that I would ask it.

Last year in the NBA you were really good at hitting moneyline dogs. got any of them coming up ?

Scott looking forward and still waiting

Scott,

Check out Orlando in the NBA. This season I have been taking the points in most cases and I am taking the points with the Magic tonight. I do see them winning tonight, but I am playing it safe at the moment.

As for the bets, I was hoping for a better response from Iowa fans. No offense, Scott, but it kind of takes the fun out of making a bet with you because you aren't really known as a long time Hawkeyes fan. Mama, that actually sounds like a great wager. Chioma and I could really use our own personal waitress at the cocktail party on Friday and at the SuperBowl party on Sunday. It's a bet if you want to make it. And as an added bonus I'll bring a USC sweatshirt for you to wear while you are serving me :).

Nick--

Nick--

I'd be up for a wager for an avatar change-- say we fly the 'colors' of the losers school for the rest of January?
Nope, won't be heading to Miami for the game. My in-laws moved to Vermont this summer and made us promise we would visit at X-mas time.
When they moved I had no problem agreeing to a visit, because I figured Iowa was headed for a minor bowl at best....
Just re-read your initial post-- I think you were asking about the SB party. Won't be there, either. Always go to the Bay Area the first week-end in Feb. for a friend's birthday party.....

Straight up, or do I get the 6 points? Straight up is fine with me. And, I agree, this game is the real national championship game.

Regardless of the outcome in this one, its sure gonna be fun seeing Miami hang 55 on Ohio Stink.........

Let me know what you think of this wager........

I'm in for an avatar change...winners choice, wear it 30 days...

Oh and by the way....play Iowa +6, even a USC fan has to admit this line is off in a BIG way...

On Iowa and Go Hawks:p

I really am a huge Iowa fan and I believe they are going to smack your team around. So how about a avatar bet ? come on what will it hurt. One school against the other.

won't you reconsider ?

oh and the bet with bahama mama should be that if you win she can substitute people to serve as long as they wear the sweater you provide. So make it a XXXL she may send RAYMOND over !

I dont think RAYMOND cares much for USC. Drinks are on the house !!!!

USC wins this one. While Iowa's non-conference schedule included Akron, Utah State and Miami, USC was playing Colorado, Kansas State, Notre Dame and Auburn. Speed kills and USC has a big speed edge to go with the toughest schedule in the NCAA. No disrespect to Iowa, an excellent team that could rival OSU. But USC has been playing. arguably, the best football in the nation the past month. For Miami and OSU fans, going undefeated is hard to argue against. But wins against weak competition may not be the equal of a loss against a better team. I remember that BYU was undefeated for a while also, against clearly inferior teams. On a neutral field, USC would definitely be favored over OSU, but probably be a small dog against Miami. Of course, I could be dead wrong. I guess it depends on how you look at it. If a horse comes into a race undefeated in 10 starts against allowance and a few Grade 3 fields, do you automatically assume he is better than the horse that has only won 8 out of 10 races, but most of his races were in Grade 1 and Grade 2 fields? I don't think so.
