Not sure how anyone can root against Tebow. Maybe some are more comfortable rooting for the criminal element that populates the ranks of the NFL?

I don't know he looked pretty damn bad to me.
You don't have to hate him or like him to see his inability to make throws which unfortunately is a prerequisite for playing QB in the NFL. Yeah yeah they won but lets see how they do the rest of the way with him at the helm before we go sucking the guys dick.

Detroit next week could give us a better picture.

Roll call please:

Roll call please:

As for today (not talking about future ramifications)

Correct: myself, Mike Ditka, Bill Romanowski and Roger Staubach.....3 guys that would love to buy you a brewski (or a PED in Romo's case) and talk football with you and perhaps one of the NFL's all time underratged QB's (top ten all-time in my book)

Incorrect: pretentious and ridculous ESPN douchebags Merrill Hoge and Trent Dilfer...hey Merrill and Trent, if yiou're not down with what happened in the last 3 minutes in South Beach, I have 2 words for ya..........

SUCK IT

I'm still in the "the jury is out camp" but to this point - Oh you absolutely can be a pedestrian QB and do that.

You musn't have seen this game. If you don't feel like reading it all, here is the relevant part. Bears were down 14 points with less than a minute to go:

"After Shane Matthews hit Marty Booker with a nine-yard touchdown pass to pull Chicago within 21-14 with 28 seconds left, the Bears perfectly executed an onside kick.

Paul Edinger kicked to his left and the ball took a high bounce. Cleveland's Percy Ellsworth got a hand on it, but Chicago's Jerry Azumah knocked it away and Bobbie Howard recovered for the Bears at the Cleveland 47.

With one timeout and 24 seconds left, Matthews hit Allen with passes of four and nine yards to the Cleveland 34.

After calling a timeout with eight seconds left, Matthews set up in the shotgun and lofted a pass to the right side of the end zone. Ellsworth leaped with a teammate and a pair of Chicago receivers and batted the ball up instead of down. Allen came flying into the end zone and made a diving catch off the carom, hurdling Booker to tie the game at 21-21 and sending the fans into a frenzy."

So are you suggesting that Shane Matthews (another former Florida QB) was a good NFL QB?

that wasn't shane matthew's first start and there wasn't so much pressure on him to perform well with millions of critics and eyes on him....under the circumstances i think he did a hell of a job :0008

"the bunker"
let`s remember...the guy plays for denver...he`s gonna lose games no matter what he does....

he won this one on the road after a rough start....he played pretty badly for 3 quarters...but again,it`s denver.....the jury is obviously still out...he has issues to straighten out(mechanics/reading defenses/just plain experience in general)....but the same can be said for blaine gabbert and several others in the league...colt mccoy is in a similar situation...he`s shown occasional spurts of ability...but he plays for the browns..that compounds the difficulty of the learning process ...

imo,at best,he could possibly reach a similar level of success as a guy like vince young...i never thought that young could be a pro qb based on his throwing issues...but he was able to have a little run with tennessee based on his ability to win late by sheer force of will...unfortunately,he has other issues(mental) that tebow doesn`t have....

i don`t know whether tebow will ever be a winning starter...but if you look at some of the shite playing qb in the league at the moment,at the very least,he should be able to become a situational/solid back-up with some experience....

i hope he succeeds...we have enough vince young`s/vicks in the league..time will tell...
