On the course!
He killed another driver last night in New York.

He "bumped" the kid into the wall, and the kid was dumb enough to leave his car. Next lap around on the yellow.......Stewart revved his engine, and caught him with the right side of the car. He dropped him under the rear tire and spit him out. Dead.

I think his driving days might be over. (Tony's)

Only Tony knows how much fault he plays in this, but why in the world would you walk out onto a race track!!!! That has to be one of the most dangerous things you could EVER do. Sad, but jeez.

So he gets out of the car thinking he is Joe Bad-ass and is going to confront Stewart racing toward him? Hmmmmm. Joe Bad-Ass or the car? What a dumb-ass!

This is road rage at the race track plain and simple.

Still shaking my head on this one. What did he think he could accomplish?

He had a helmet on.

The more I watched that video, the more I can't really blame Stewart as much as I blame Ward. Two other drivers almost creamed him first!

Not sure what the ruling is but from reading other message boards people are saying when a caution comes out cars are supposed to power down and ride low on the track....This was a 17 yr old kid who lost his temper and got pissed....This hit into the wall didn't seem that bad but I think ole Tony was trying to teach the young un a lesson about getting out of the car and challenging him.... Tony was taught the hardest lesson, but this isn't the first time his head got the best of him....

No winners here, two egos that acted badly.....RIP young man.....:0008

Actually Tony Stewart doesn't actually own this track. This track owner is Jeremie Corcoran. Tony does own or part ownership in Eldora Speedway(another track very similar to this one).

Sad situation in which both parties made bad decisions.

I thought of that also, but Tony has not won a Nascar race in well over a year! His quota this year has been just to finish at this point. He has by far and beyond to own any track.

Tony Stewart will race as scheduled at Watkins Glen.

"We're business as usual today," Greg Zipadelli, Stewart-Haas Racing vice president of competition, told USA TODAY Sports.

Owns, as in it's his way or the hi-way attitude......I think he was trying to send a message to the kid, and fucked up.....

Anybody whos ever driven a winged car will come to the same conclusion I did(not that I've ever personally driven but been around it long enough to know).....Tony never saw the guy until he was on top of him...black suit, black groove, dust in your eyes, 90% of the right side cockpit opening blocked by a wing panel and full containment seat... when the yellow comes out you are opening your visor, wiping out your eyes, adjusting your belts, looking at the guages and trying not to hit a car slowing in front of you while not brakechecking somebody behind you. You don't even consider that theres already a guy out of his car running at you from your blind side. The blue car in front of Tony almost hit the guy and that wasn't even who he was running at. Furthermore, a sprint car doesn't turn on a dime. You have to goose the throttle to get the car to react quickly. I've read the comments on the YouTube video and it's hilarious what people are writing and they have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. On the flip side, he MAY have been trying to throw dirt on the guy and misjudged in turn running over the guy but we all know he will never admit to that. The only one that knows what really happened is Tony Stewart.

PaSprint,

I`ve read some of the comments that been posted by people and are amazed by the ignorance:facepalm:

I got a few question for you. How much do you think it would mean for the sprint driver to have a win over a cup driver like Khane or Smoke? I guess what I`m asking to you think they would rather have the trophy or the fact that they beat a cup regular. Do you think when the cup guys come to town that the sprint drivers would rather gang up vs letting a cup regular win? That wreck do you think it was just a racing incident that quite often happens?

I don`t keep up with sprint cars but I know you do just want to see a more informed side.

Absolutely the sprint car drivers want to beat Tony Stewart. Furthermore, Tony isn't the best driver in the field at a race like this. Most guys that run these cars are far from rich and not only want the trophy they need the purse money too. As far as the actual crash, I'd say it happens often. Stewart slid up and pinched the Ward kid in the fence and he crashed. However, those cars do have brake pedals and the kid opted to not use his in this particular incident.
