i actually think that kid didn't sing bad compared to all his other abortions. It was brutal but his others were flat out terrible. He is having a ball to. I think he thinks he is good.
Good info BDB. A few weeks ago I bet on Sanjaya to outlast Phil at +150. However, at the time I was completely forgetting that Phil is "The Navy Guy." Do you think he could be safe for a while due to getting tons and tons of navy votes? I hope not, but I also know Sanjaya can't get the "comedic value" votes forever. Thoughts?
Dang, sorry to see Sligh in that spot. He must have really sucked last night...he was the best the week before, IMO...still haven't watched last night's show.
Sligh brought some personality (although tough to look at) and some originality to his arrangements, and has a good voice. But, I honestly will have to say I'd rather watch Haley for another week for obvious reasons, and I doubt Jordin will be going home soon.
If Sligh goes home before Sanjaya, which apparently he will, we really do have a credibility problem, and this thing has gotten out of hand. It hasn't mattered too much to this point, all have been deserving of going home to date, IMO. None remotely more than S-Bomb, though.

Navy votes don't mean much. I'm sure he gets them.
Just like I'm sure gay men vote for Phil and teenage girls vote for chris r. and blake and pubescent teens vote for jordin.
theres more gay men, teenage girls, and pubescent teens than people in the navy. they all cancel out.
and sanjay will outlast phil unless there is vote rigging.

American Idol has had a credibility problem ever since Taylor won last year. Guy was a joke and the fourth place finisher, 2nd place finisher and soon to be 3rd place finisher will all outsell him. Look who has the number one album and single in America. Chris Daughtry. Taylor hasn't done chit and won't. He was funny to look at on stage, but you don't see that when buying an album.
Also, you want to know something else funny. Bucky Covington who went home 7th or 8th or something last year with buckteeth and a mop head has outsold Taylor. He has the number one country music video.
So, AI credibility issues started last year and continue this year...even more so with Sanjay. But use that knowledge and profit from it.

i don't watch the show so can't comment on the singers. The morning talk radio show around here brings up the fact that the vote for Sanjaya is stacked every week. Votefortheworst.com is encouraging you to vote for him. Did check out the site and it gives the reasons for their actions. Just curious if any one else saw this?
I hope you're right. I guess I was just looking for reasons as to why he's still around. I thought he was going to be gone a few weeks ago.

no problem. hopefully it continues. i swept my last longers and cleaned up with sanjay not being eliminated. haley vs. gina still pending. all in all a great night.
haven't seen it yet, but heard that phil was in the bottom 3, not jordin. interesting to see if it was bad info or the producers made the switch. technically they only have to put the two lowest vote getters out there. their 3rd they rotate all the time. common knowledge.
anyway, result was right. glad everyone one....hopefully another one next week with miserable tony bennet week.

He was the one saved at the end. There was Haley (very cute tonight...) and Sligh left... I knew you were right then!

I am thinking it is more than Vote the Worst that is keeping Sanjaya alive. He might be the only one in this group of contestants that has any personality. The kid gets talked about more than the two really good singers. Haley is the only looker so she should stay awhile. I think they waste too much time showcasing the nut jobs that want their 15 srconds of fame in the first weeks. The thousands that show up for shock value really take a toll on finding a good singer. This is a very weak field this year.
I actually liked Phil this week...his voice really sounded a lot like Sting in that song. But overall, he has to be close to going home moving forward. Haley can remain in the bottom 3 every week...more camera time. lol. Sligh was not good, too bad for him. Blake did a solid job on a great song. I think he will be in the finals with Melinda if he keeps picking the right songs.
