The Dogpound
great movie--was never a badass like kyle, but relived my 2 tours in iraq

not sure of every event that occurred but the portrayal of how cities in iraq are shitty is dead on

plus the battle between war and family is legit--felt it from the beginning

im lucky not be fd up like some who i fought by side by side, but the scars will always be there

i truly believe isis is as big of a threat as we have ever faced--im too fkn old and now have a family i need to take care of, but those who accept the challenge are worthy of our support simply bc the USA is the best fkn country in the world--

not sure everything is factual but can tell you the setting is spot on

hats off to kyle --no doubt 160 killed only kept more Americans from being killed--american hero:0008

Thank You for your service! :toast:

Thank you but if you ever get a chance to give towards wounded warriors please do. Obviously it's a choice to serve but those wounded gave all. I've got all limbs and a beautiful family. In blessed beyond imagination.

Really really good movie - Cooper was great and should win the Oscar. I am biased though because he comes on Stern and said he would say "Bababooey" if he wins:mj07:

Saw it last night... have to say that my wife and I didn't really like it. We actually considered walking out within the first 20 minutes, but I rarely ever do that. The rest of the family that we went to see the movie with seemed to like it. We thought the plot was too predictable and the story-line a bit choppy. Can't say I've been a fan of much anything that I've seen that Eastwood has directed recently, although I will concede that Cooper had an excellent performance and the battle scenes seemed pretty real.
I'd say DM's neighbor was spot on with the "Jingoistic Eye Candy" comment. Had to look up Jingoism first though

Complaining about the plot of what is supposed to be a true story

To clarify, I'm not complaining about a true story (although, from what I've read, it seems that some of what Kyle wrote in his memoir is up for debate), but I thought Eastwood could have done a better job depicting his story.
