that in the Lpga bylaws their tournaments are only open to women. However if it's the women's US Open maybe the USGA has different rules and that is where he'll find his loophole.:shrug:

I can't wait to see her play in a PGA event.

Oh this is going to be hillarious. She is going to get a nice swift kick right in her nuts.

You can't even compare the two tours. Does she stand a chance? I quess it is possible for her to make the cut, but then again it is possible for me to win the lottery.

Hearing Phil talk about how she will finish 20th is a joke. I hope everyone understands that they are just being nice.

Go play a tough course in your area from the tips and then stroll on up to the whites and give it a go. It is joke how much easier it will play.

She hits 79% of her greens. Tiger leads the PGA with 74%.
Can you image her % with 50 yards added to every hole.
She will be playing a scrambling game instead of having a birdie attempt on every hole.

The yardage alone will flat out kill her. I know she is longer than a couple of guys on tour blah blah blah, just wait and see. If it were only the yardage then maybe she could some how get something going, but when you add the insane greens it is over.

Then again if it were only the yardage and the greens it would be a cakewalk compared to what she will be going through. The whole world will be watching as she gets one shot to show us how she can perform on the PGA tour. Way to much pressure.

Someone above posted that David D and Sergio missed the cut last year at this event. These guys have sick skillz. Well, at least Sergio still does. Anyway if these guys are missing the cut she can pack it in.

She even played like crap when her and Webb played with Duval and Woods. That was just a fun event.

Ahhh well I am sure many will disagree, but it will be fun watching her hack it around.

Sorry lads if I upset a few. I was stating my opinion, like you all are. I'm not saying she will qualify or she won't all I'm saying is if she fails first time around, everyone will say "told you so". If this becomes a regular occurance she will in the end have more top 25 finishes than missed cuts. I son't feel you give her the credit that she deserves. She has dominated the ladies tour for a few years now and this will be a challenge. I agree with all that you say, the longer course, the thicker rough, quicker greens. One of her strong points on the tour is course management, she knows her capabilities and will play to those strengths. I've seen Laura Davis compete on a championship course from back tee's with men competing. I know it was a charity event, but the winning two round score was 137 (par 71), Laura scored 141. This was a course that Tiger shot 78 at a couple of months later.

One thing you Americans forget is that your fairways are really wide. You have to hit a very poor or wayward tee shot to miss those fairways. One of the most accurate strikers of the ball a few years ago in his prime hit fairways at a rate of 91%, the second best player on year stats was 82%, the person was Nick Faldo.

Dr Freeze, read my thread I said she was 5/2 (+250) to make the cut. You want to back it, fine. But make your mind up because earlier you said she had no chance of making the cut and you would consider taking 1/4 (-400).

fatdaddycool, it's not that the handicapped person was not allowed to play on the tour, because he was. It was because you cannot use carts as a mean of travelling around the couse, you must walk on foot. These are not local or country rules, these are rules that are laid down from the gouverning body.

Colonial does NOT have wide fairways....its a tough tight course....LPGA fairways are runways.....lots of other PGA courses are the same....

Annika will shoot a smooth 155 and go crying back to the LPGA

Not questioning your right to state your opinion and not trying to get under your skin. I am sure you are a very capable and knowledgeable capper. You also sound like you follow golf, that being said, earlier you stated that the pga was open to all comers and that is simply not true. With a no riding(carts) clause, thereby eliminating the handicapped for all intensive purposes, you can see it is clearly not open to all.
Look what I am saying is simply this....

When special considerations have to made, there is simply absolutely no way you can term it as equal. There is no such thing as equal rights, because women have to be given and have been given special considerations in all walks of society for their entire life. From cradle to grave. Understand one thing, Annika has already been given special consideration because she is playing in a males event. It always has been male. Billie Jean King didn't beat Bobby Riggs here. No woman has burned her bra or leapt into the pond upon winning this tournament. You are entitled to your beliefs and opinions, neither of which really quantify this arguement because there are NO SUCH THING AS EQUAL RIGHTS. Period. Special considerations, not equal. But will we cave in as a society and sheepishly go into that good night and allow her to play??????? Absolutely, she will get her way. She is a woman. Another thing do you honestly think women don't know about this little "power of the pout" that they have? Hell, they not only know they possess it but the talk about it amongst themselves all the time.
If you choose to call that chauvinism and machoism fine , I prefer realism.

:shrug: Wow Got in a debate on female golf message board and they all climbed on ole dogs hard. They kept going on about it was "The Challenge" per Annika's quote. Did finally cool their heels this query though.
"If she wants a challege why don't she try and win an Open(British or U.S. on lpga tour) since they are set up closest to PGA standards as it appears in her last 6 years at each shes 0 wins 3 cuts and 31 strokes over par.Would seem a little improvement there would be quite a challenge"

She hasn't even won the open? Are you kidding me? Really? And she feels it is the next step in her career to go play with the men? Unbelievable. She would not even earn her card if she was a man. Let this be a lesson to all women who feel it is divine right to be able to do whatever a man can. You can't. period. You are a woman. You are not as strong, you may have equal intelligence yet you cannot apply it to checkbook balancing or decision making. People of all races and gender have roles in society, regardless of what society we are talking about. Those roles are distinct and CHOSEN! By the very ones that fill them. I wish that people would quit shoving equal rights and racism down our throats. You want to know how to think like a woman fine,think of a man take away accountability and reason and bam you have a woman.
