I am trying to plan a trip for the Wife and I coming up here in February and I thought it would be great to take her to Las Vegas.

Questions:

1. Where would be a nice place to stay that is still fairly reasonable priced, obviously I am trying to keep the budget down so as to have more money for gambling. We are not big spenders and are not made of money (especially since we just had out first boy not too long ago!)

2. I would like to get her a spa package somewhere. Would I need to get it at the same
place I stay at or do people go to other hotels to do it? I have no idea how it works.

Any help would be good, I was thinking there may be websites that advertise better rates than others, etc.

Thanks,

Spalding

majority of casinos on the strip can be pricey..and all have nice features

further off strip you go the prices will go down.

Nice feature of being on strip you can visit many of the nicer casinos without driving, which as many know can be brutal:com:

last weekend i was off the strip at the Orleans, and it was very nice for about $110 per night.

have a nice visit..:00hour

Check out the spa at Ceasers. My wife said it was the best shes been to and she's been to most of them.

You can use it even if you're not staying there.

I am going to check out the Orleans place, I really don't mind being just off the strip, especially when we are doing it as a getaway type trip.

Thanks for the tip on Caesars spa, will definitely look it up!

Thanks

Another question:

How is Downtown? I was thinking of trying that as a change up, my wife likes that type of town usually but I would like to know if its worth it to stay down there or not? What places are nice or the best for the buck down there?

golden nugget the best place to stay down there but you don't want to do that. DT is nice for a 4-6 hour visit but you're going to want to see the better properties on the strip, imo.

Gotta agree with the Golden Nugget. We stayed there last year during the SB and had a blast.
Personally for me I like staying downtown more than the strip. If I am having a streak of bad luck its out one door and into another casino a few minutes later. On the strip it is a long way between casinos.

When we stayed there last year we took a taxi to Circus Circus and then rode the bus that goes up and down the strip to get to the Tropicana. Next time we go we will take a day and just hit the strip casinos by bus.

Have stayed at Excalibur before and for me I got bored with the people at the tables fast. Just seems there are more friendlier people at the tables downtown. But then again I am comfortable being at a table with some drunks and hootin and hollerin right along with them.

came on the board today to post almost the exact same message (about the spa's)

We are going in 2 weeks and I am looking to get my wife a spa package.

I am looking for something middle of the road... do not need anything extraordinary. Ideally, I would like to keep it between $100 and $200. Any thoughts about the best place for the money.

She regularly gets massages from the local spa school, so anything professional is an upgrade. She is not much of a gambler, so a few hours in the spa would be great... especially for me :)

Don't mean to hi-jack your thread spalding, just wanted to keep the same topics together
