DoubleDown..Actually cant stand the whgite walls on my bike. They are a pain to clean (even when using the Mr Clean scrub pad)..miss one spot and that will be the spot thats on the bottom every time I stop. They came with the bike so I am just going to wait till I need new tires and then go back to the black walls.

We tried to put our bikes inside for the winter but we couldnt make the turn to get them in the spare bedroom.

Ricknjax. The bike is looking good. Next you have to get the flame grips. You are just at the tip if the iceberg for doing the flame theme on your bike.:D :D

Something you might want to check out. On your shift pedal it looks as if the flame cap was put on backwards. Notice on all your other flames they go out to in except for the shift pedal. It goes in to out. They should all be going the same way.

When we put them on the wifes bike we couldnt get the footpegs to look the same on each side. Come to find out whoever packaged it up put 2 of the same ones in the package. We took it back to the HD shop and they gave us the right one. They even brought out the allen wrench so we replaced it in the parking lot.

Buuba,

I use the Mr Clean scrub pad with Westleys Bleach White. Works good.

I always clean my bike on the jack, in the house. It is SOOO much easier tokeep the spokes/ white walls clean that way.

I suffer from OCD. So I have to spend about 2 hours cleaning my bike before it gets wheeled outside !!! No one has EVER seen it dirty, and my ol' lady breaks out the windex/ paper towels , when we have a " pit stop " on the road !!

Ill be damned you are right. I did not even notice that.

I bought some tork wrenches. I will see if I can change it tomorrow. If not I will take it back. I knew they would screw something up.

Hey Rick I bought a 2006 Dyna Superglide in June. Haven't put anything on it yet but keep me informed on what you do to yours. I can already see I gotta have them forward controls.

Will do Needy. Yea the foward controls are great. So much more comfortable. HD charged me $640 to move them but I think it was worth it. I could have gone with the wideglide and would of had the controls already forward but I just liked the look of the lowrider much better and knew going in I may need to move them. The only other things I have added other than the flame peg, shifter, brakepad kit, was chrome license plate and front fender tip. Few other things I would like to add but I will wait as I have spent enough for right now lol.

Ricknjax...Are you still running the stock exhaust?

:mj07:

Yea I am still running the stock exhaust. With (helmets, gloves, goggles, boots, msf course)x2for wife, forward controls, flame peg kit and other small add ons I have spent 1.8k in a month since I got the bike. Would like some new exhaust but I think I will have to wait a while as my bank account does have a bottom as does my wifes indulgence LOL. Give me another month and I will be asking what you what to get.
Thanks man

Damn Doubledown..no wonder it takes you 2 hours to clean your bike.:D

Ricknjax..I hear you about about the bottom of the bank account.

For me it took 1 day of riding to swap out the exhaust. Who would have thought a stock HD would sound like a Goldwing.

So far on my bike I have:
Screaming eagle exhaust
S/E air filter
Vance and Hines true duals. It removes the crossover pipe. Now I can hear the pipes in stereo not mono.
Canned HD map...waste of $300 there
Powercommander...should have bought this first instead of havng the HD download done.
Had the bike Dynotuned
Hogtune speakers
Boots and jackets.x2

Have extremely hard water here so I bought the spotfree washer/rinser thing a ma jig. Best thing since sliced bread. I then bought a leaf blower for drying the bike. Cuts down the drying time and gets all the water out of every nook and cranny.

The wife took the msf course and really enjoyed it. She learned a lot in the class.

On the wifes bike shes got:
S/E exhaust
S/E air filter
tach
Flame themed pegs, grips, and brake pedal. They do not make a flamed shifter for her bike.
1250 conversion. Alot more power and rumble to the bike now.
The only thing left she wants is speakers for her bike. I cannot see spending $500 for 2 little speakers. I would rather spend the money on a new seat for her bike. The stock one is nothing more than a piece of leather wrapped around plastic.

Damn you guys have customized your rides well!
From reading posts on the HD forum the stock exhaust on the 2007 bikes sounds alot better than previous years. Might have something to do with the bigger 96ci motor. Mine does not sound like no Goldwing though but I do not have another Harley to compare it to so not sure how much louder it is than previous years. But sounds good to me. Would like to get some screaming eagle pipes though and will some time down the road a bit. Will be the next thing I get!
:Yep:

EXCELLENT idea on the leafblower. Never thought of that !!

Peaking my interest on the HOG TUNES speakers also, but DAMN, ......... I gotta stop somewhere !!

Ol' lady bought me the chrome "Twisted" shifter rod and the chrome inner primary cover for Valentine's Day.
They are installing them while they are doing the 5K service !!

Knew I married her for something !!

Nice bike In The Black. Just curious..is the crash bar (engine gaurd) painted or powder coated?

It's powder.I had the entire front end, handlebars, and bag supports coated as soon as I bought the bike.22k miles later it all still looks perfect.I gotta second the Hogtunes.Well worth the $100.

As far as sound and pipes go the stock '07s do have a little deeper sound than stock previous years but these bikes will never have the old Harley sound because of EPA requirements (catalysts in mufflers),EFI instead of carbs,etc.etc.You can come close with a built engine, the correct cam,etc.,etc.but an EFI bike just idles to high to get the same lope as a low idling carbed bike.

Rick nice addition with the forwards.

Is there anything left that you dont have chromed???

I showed this thread to my wife and told her "See what a good wife will do for her husband? Cleans the motorcycle at pit stops."

Hey...sleeping on the couch isnt all that bad.:142smilie

Ricknjax...was the price for labor alone or did it include the controls?
