I am about to when it turns worse and I can get a great deal on a luxury suv, name my price hopefully.

I just hate dealing with pushy salespeople. Maybe in a few months when we are in a depression will be a good time to start looking.

they should be giving those things away pretty soon but you're gonna have a problem getting a good trade if you have one. i suggest keeping the one you have and buy with no trade or you'll get fuked.

One of my least favorite activities in the world is to go new car shopping when you know you will probably buy one. Hate dealing with car dealers, and the finance people that they have come in and try to upsell you on the options are worse.

Buying a car is going is going to get more difficult unless you are paying cash.Nobody wants to take a chance on someone unless they have excellent credit.

We are in the market, when my wife has the baby around Memorial Day we will lose her company car soon thereafter.

I think I've seen some car salesman ejaculate on themselves just to see us walking up the lot. I'll do as we have done in the past....find out invoice, check with multiple dealers, take the lowest offer and play it against other deals. I had a friend go via email and avoid them all-together. Edmunds had an article about how dealers get a lot of business online and it cuts the bullshit out. It has worked well in the past. We are looking at the lexus GX....for all those environmentalists out there :142smilie As far as financial we'll have it settled before we even sit down....they can try to beat it but it's nice to not be dependent on them for it.

We paid cash when we bought our last car. We got a Honda Accord EX V6. The price was agreed upon at 24,500 at the time of sale. They had a finance guy come out and try to talk to us about all the options like something that protects the paint, some kind of GPS device that prevents the car from being stolen, etc, etc, etc. I tell them as long as I am only paying $24,500 for the car. I go to pick up the car and they try to say I owe them a total amount of 33,000 for the options included. I tell them to keep it and I don't want it. They stop me as I was walking out and tell me to sit down and we signed the papers for the price agreed upon at $24,500. They'll try to pull all kind of crap on you no matter the situation.

dealing with the car salesmen is part of the fun buying a car. i like messing with their heads :mj07:

same with the "closer" they bring in to seal the deal.

they definitely don't like me after i leave especially if i walk, because it's a few hours.

That $4500 sounds like a great deal until you realize that you HAVE to buy a hybrid...:mj07:

Just sayin'..... I guess I'm old school, but I still like a car that jumps when I hit the accelerator.... not a car that tries to decide if it should use the V4 gas engine or the electric engine.....

There may be someday when a hybrid car has 350+ horsepower and when that happens, I'll look at it.

It's kinda like the Cadillac commercial "When you turn on your car, does it do the same to you?" or something to that effect.

I mean - if you are spending $25-60K on a car - whatever the price - it should be more than "point A to point B" - it should be a blast to drive.

I kinda doubt a Toyota Prius falls in the category of "It's a blast to drive"....

JHMO.....
