"the bunker"
on today`s n.y. tunnels` bust....
""Officials say none of the plotters was in the United States but that several of them were nearby in Canada. Others had planned to travel to New York from Saudi Arabia.""

gee, I wonder how they'd do that?...oh:

sunday, march 26, 2006:

Saudi Students Coming to US Will Quadruple

""""""""The UA will enroll about 100 new Saudi Arabian students this summer, which could signal the reverse of a post-Sept. 11 trend of having fewer international students in the United States, especially those from the Middle East.

The students are part of a new large-scale scholarship program by the Saudi government, which will send about 6,000 students to American universities this year after just 1,442 Saudi students had visas to study in the United States in 2004.

About 80 of the students are already at the UA, enrolled in English-immersion classes before they start their academic programs in the fall. More are expected by the start of next semester as they secure visas.

“International education and student mobility are critical to a lot of positive initiatives worldwide,” said Joanne Lagass? Long, director of the Office of International Student Affairs. “The best way to do that is have students study in each other’s countries.” ...

“U of A is famous in Saudi Arabia,” said Abdullah Alshammari, 35. “All of them didn’t come by chance. They made a plan.”"""

this really bothers me......considering the fact that we apparently already have terrorist sleeper cells in our midst.....whether they be inept or not....they`re dangerous....

even to me...the dreaded fascist neocon....this one falls right at the feet of bush and the boys.....

i wish the msm would jump on this little tidbit...

ridiculous...

somebody at the state dept. needs to be hit upside the head with the cluebat.....

GW, lets get it straight, you are not a Neocon. You are simply misguided about the Occupation of Iraq and a few other things. But that doesn't make you a Neocon.

It is very disturbing to me that we are inviting Saudi students in the country while we make gray haired grandmothers take off their shoes to board an airplane!

The leadership of this country need a major overhaul.

Funny Story Stevie--on way to Las Vegas I set off machine twice --which got me a one on one invitation and full pat down. These guys don't miss a trick--had me undo my belt and then rescan that area to see if I was hinding anything metal behind it.
I was pretty impressed with search and by person giving it.
By the way it was metal foil in cigarette pack that set off intial machine.

We are in bed with the Saudi government, I can't believe the way Our Government has treated Saudi Arabia before or after September 11th. The Saudi government is a clear and present threat to our security here at home, more than any country in the word. They harbor and breed terrorist and the funding is unlimited, supplied by us every day we put gas in our automobiles. This sick perverted relationship has been on going for to many years, with every administration in my lifetime. If you want to answer the question how could Sep 11th happen, take a look at our relationship with the Saudi's ,take a look at the people in our government, our people in the oil business that put $$$$'s over our security here at home. The similarities in relationships, this administration has with the NY Times, and the Saudi Government are this: both institutions on the surface appear to be enemies to the casual unsophisticated observer, but there is a covert underlining connection because of greed and power . There are people in all three of these institutions, that have big picture goals and visions, that don't include the health, wealth and safety of the America People. How could a country that spends Billions on security and intelligence, allow Sept 11th to happen ? Someone on our side, wasn't on our side. A person or persons that have our trust, did not and do not deserve it. Who's looking out for you and me ?

You might worrying about oil for a minute and consider why the terrorist are anti Saudi. I have no problem being in bed with any country that joins fight against terror--heres a little updated scorecard of Saudi vs terrorist that may enighten you--
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_attacks_in_Saudi_Arabia

--plus Saudis are not only ones the come on board---

Three years ago, Pakistan was one of the few countries in the world that recognized the Taliban regime, and al Qaeda was active and recruiting in Pakistan without serious opposition. Today, the United States and Pakistan are working closely in the fight against terror, and Pakistani forces are rounding up terrorists along the nation?s western border.

Three years ago, terrorists were established in Saudi Arabia. Inside that country, fundraisers and other facilitators gave al Qaeda financial and logistical help with little scrutiny or opposition. Today, after attacks in Riyadh and elsewhere, Saudi Arabia is working to shut down the facilitators and financial supporters of terrorism, and they have captured or killed many leaders of the al Qaeda organization in Saudi Arabia.
Three years ago, Yemen stonewalled the investigation of the USS Cole bombing. Today, Yemeni authorities have moved against al Qaeda in their own territory; hosted Army Special Forces to train and advise Yemeni troops in counterterrorism; and increased contacts with the Defense Department, CIA, and FBI. In November 2002, Yemeni authorities allowed a US Predator drone to kill six al Qaeda operatives in Yemen, including senior al Qaeda leader Abu Ali al-Harithi.
Indonesia, the world?s largest Muslim country, has moved against Jemaah Islamiah, the al Qaeda-linked Islamic terrorist organization, and has arrested its suspected leader, radical cleric Abubakar Baasyir.
The US military has trained and advised Philippine troops in Philippine-led anti-terror operations, such as those against the Abu Sayyaf Islamic terrorist group.

However these items have been stated numerous times--along with foiled plots against us--and believe it or not I find it amusing the liberal blogs answer to these regimes/terrorists being eliminated--enemies countries now turned ally--foiled plots--ect is--"I don't feel any safer" so I have to assume they preferred things as they were-- ;)

with that being said--I am for eliminating ALL students visa's from middle eastern countries

Dogs, I can understand why you think what you do , the picture you paint is 90% illuminated. On the out side, the fringe, there are factions in the Saudi government that will never embrace America, it's not in their nature. The are moving our way on the surface, they have to but when the Saudi's come to town, I'm not leaving the key under the mat. Because they have been the victims of terror you think they are our friends ? Yes we have common enemies, but the enemy is us. Not my thought, read the books.

About 5:00 pm on Sept 11th, I sat stunned with a group of guys that I have known for 10 to 20 years. Not knowing what I know now, I said this: The people who did this were educated and trained in America, someone in our government let us down . I believe it more every day. There is nothing that anyone can say to change my thinking. The Saudi's are sophisticated,it's not the Saudi students we have to worry about, it's the people that are supposed to be watching these guys we need to worry about. If the tax payers of America get their moneys worth, we could let all the Saudi students we wanted to in the Country.

It's all very logical. Increase the number of rich Saudi students while making it more difficult for middle-class Americans to attend college (as shown in the the other thread). But Dogs has no problem "being in bed" with these deceptive assholes. You really actually think Saudi Arabia is our ally, don't you? Dogs, you have an addiction to deflection. Admission is half the battle to recovery. I know you can overcome this terrible affliction.

glad i could throw out some chum for the bushitler crowd.....we aims to please...and i gotta call em as i sees `em....like the ports deal thing...

but, this story has so many wacky aspects to it...

a few things make you shake your head.....

1)why are these jihadi`s told to "live it up like non-muslim`s" right before blowing themselves to martyrdom?......

you gotta love the irony....the reward for blowing yourself up in the name of islam, is a brief reprieve from living under islams suffocating laws......

2)these guys were apparently early on in their planning....and we apparently lost out on a bigger haul of bad guys because the media...again.....prematurely ran the story...

with the wrong info,btw...they had them blowing up the holland tunnel......or was it holland(the country)?...who fooking knows...

it's hard to know if it was a hair-brained plan by the jihadis, or just hair-brained reporting by the media.....whatever,the result is probably identical in both cases....

3)anybody remember last year all the hysteria over searching bags and backpacks in the n.y.c. subways?.....the stink the aclu made?

now this story, along with the sarin gas one from a month or so ago.

where are the brave civil lib types now?....taking cabs? ...

still waiting for that n.y.t`s undercover mosque sting.....

still waiting....and waiting...

anybody know what the n.y. slimes had to say about the bust?

Gw, although you are not a Neoco you are a Neocon's best friend you still bring up an interesting aspect. I take the tunnels to work every day. Riding the subway for years I hav ebeen surprised that no one has blown up a subway yet. Never mind the people with backpacks. We have people with large suitcases riding. No search. No nothing. Not even the threat of a search. It would be the easiest thing for a terrorist to do. In all my years riding the rails we were only searched once and that was when the Democratic Convention was in town.
I find it amazing that some can justify the Occupation of Iraq while we don't have the money to secure our subways.

stevie...my buddy....we agree?....

makes my day....ole gw and stevie concurring.....life is wonderful..... :mj06:

btw...anybody see the reporter "molly line" on fox?......

whoa....sharp ...very sharp...

Not that I'm in bed with Saudi's Smurph it's more- the enemy of my enemy is my friend--I am not naive enough to think Saudi is not chuncked full of terrorist supporters--therefore I as said before--untill we can can decide who is friend or foe I am for stopping all visa's from middle east--in fact I would go as far as deporting all muslims that are not citizens--then the only ones we'd have to worry about is certain element in our society that have nothing-care about nothing--and are prone to muslim conversions that give them some sense of being--quite easy to breed hate among those with nothing and have distain for those that do. After all Allah is president of the it not my fault alumni. :)

I have no factual data to back this up, but my assumption would be that a guy of Arab descent pounding down shots of absinthe in a club and doing lines of blow off a stripper's chest would probably seem less likely to be an Islamic fundamentalist terrorist than a guy who sits in the corner wearing white robes and reading the Koran. So perhaps its to help act as a guise to deter suspicions? Or else maybe it's just to help make him seem more like Saul?

I have no idea how/why Saul got dragged into that otherwise excellent analysis.

I don't know, either. It just popped in my head as I typed so I figured I'd run with it.

I would worry hell of a lot more about our rails and subways then that old gas shells they found in Iraq. That it ends up they new about few years back. We can't protect all our rails, borders and people here at home. That job is just about impossible. It also will take ton of more cash then we have to spend right now. Why? Because were spending to much in places like Iraq looking for old weapons. And we still don't understand that over 50% of Iraqi's want us out. It comes down to priority's. Home should be first.
