I thought it was an entertaining read.
A former stock player who gets into heavily betting baseball and he has some good
stories from both realms.
I'm not sure about the strategies mentioned (not really the main focus) but I enjoyed the
experience. I actually did this one audiobook.

Just curious what others thought, if anyone has else has consumed it.

I agree Extrapolater, it was a good read. It was an interesting story and I found it fascinating what he was able to deduct from the numbers (OBP, BA, lineups, etc.). It was much more of an analytical book than I thought it would be. Going in, I thought it would be just a good story about baseball. However, it was very fascinating how he was able to gather all of the statistics, bet on the games, and increase his bankroll. Also, I found it interesting that he wasn't always right about the games and he could repeatedly bet on certain teams and lose. However, he won a lot more in the long run.

This actually sounds quite good.
Rather recent, too, which only may suggest that the latest thoughts on the subject,
and the most recently developed stats (seems to never stop, there), would be
included.

I've been spending too much time, lately, on epistemology and somehow trying to
relate that back to the 'capping, along with some varied approaches to statistical analysis
that seem to be coming prevelant; baseball, soccer (good grief) and football, mainly.

Anybody interested can do a youtube search for 'ssac' and find a number of interesting
approaches to 'analytics' there. Some I've heard were decent while others seems to waste
a fair bit of time but that seems to be par for the course at this stage.

Thanks again for the suggestion--I'm gonna search indigo and such and see if I can pick
up a copy in town.

All of philosophy and, really, all lines of enquiry require epistemology,
either explicitly or implicitly.

If I could do my academic shit all over again (thank Hendrix that I can't)
then I wouldn't have wasted my time on ethics and other shiite cookie bombs
but would have pursued epistemology.
I don't even know if they offered it at the mickey mouse York University that
I was (lastly) going to.

p.s.
Mind you, as epistemology is generally pursued, academically, it leaves a little
more to be desired then does waiting for Tool to release another album.

Does that make sense?
My brain is semi-mush, today.
