Do you like to shoot them while they are closed in in large enclosures?

i know this sounds like a broken record...

BUT, when they are overpopulated and run out in front of you while driving... then you might want a couple more dead

I actually have had a run in with a deer.

I still dont want them killed. Maybe if we left them some more of their natural habit, we wouldn't be hitting them with our cars.

I heard about that... And i know of a couple places aroudn here that do that.

The fun part about hunting is going out and scouting and finding out where they are... when to go and all that good stuff.

Tip off some eco-terror groups to their location. They will handle it properly.

Season opened Sept 15 here in Wi. Wife has been out a couple of times with no luck. She saw a good size doe with 3 fawns still hanging around her but she was spotted as she was drawing back. Deer should be getting more active in the next couple of weeks with the weather turning cooler and the rut is getting close. Heading back up north next weekend to give it another try.

Dont agree at all with hunting in a penned area.

Good luck

SixFive loves deer... but for different reasons....:com:

 :fingerc: :mj10: :liar: :bsflag :bs: :wtf:

justin, our season opened up September 1st. I actually sold my Matthews; I've not been able to physically hold up long enough to be able to shoot and be accurate enough for my standards. I'm thinking about getting a crossbow. I'll be out soon for muzzleloader season, and then I'll hunt modern gun followed by the late muzzleloader sesaon. Might also get out with a borrowed crossbow.

Our herd has been decimated with blue tongue this year, so I'm not expecting much.

Its legal for crossbow in Ky and AL?? I know in Wi its not legal unless you are handicapped.

Is blue tongue the same as CWD (chronic wasting disease)that we have here? In certain areas of the state where its been found the DNR is giving out unlimited tags to clear all the deer out. Hunted in the area last year and you would be hard pressed to find a deer.

This year we are farther up north so we are hunting in a regular zone.

no, blue tongue is caused by a virus that is carried by little gnat-type bugs called midges. It's worse when there are drought type conditions.

You are correct. In Kentucky you can not hunt with a crossbow unless you have a handicapped permit, but that interpretation is extremely loose. All you have to do is print a form out from the Ky. F&W page and get your physician to sign with a reason you can't hunt with a bow (I can qualify because of a back problem I have). We also have an extended crossbow season; it lasts I think 2 months now.

I think you read that wrong, but nevermind. I had you confused with 3 Seconds... Seems only the OTHER DAY you were filming deer eating apples so I ASSUMED you actually liked deer for videography and photography. BUT if you want to read into it, and that video was you actually TRAPPING deer with feed, you are a scum bag...

read into it wrong?? you typed I liked them for different reasons and then put the :com: smilie. Hmm, how would you interpret... ?

As far as trapping deer with feed, it's illegal to trap deer, and I would have no idea how to go about that?

I hate hunting. I think it is a horrible hobby, sport or whatever you want to call it. I could speak on this & what I think of it for hours, but no reason to go on a lecture on the why, whats & how's of it here & now.

**Unless you hunt with your bare hands or a self made weapon out of natural materials (spear, bow, blade) & use the kill for practical purposes (food, clothing etc) & not just as a trophy of your supposed greatness. This I have no problem with at all, except if it is a protected or domestic animal.**

That being said I dont hate all hunters on personal level. I hate them as a whole, but not as individuals.

6'5, while I dont know him personally, strikes me as a responsible hunter. Someone who doesnt just kill as many deer as he can and collect them for trophys. I would bet he is for lack of a better term an ethical hunter (although I feel odd using those terms together).

So I guess what I am trying to say is that if you must hunt, PLEASE do it as little as possible, do it responsibly and as humanely as possible.

Thanks your local anit-hunting brigade! :SIB
