I had one back when I lived in Michigan. I made it out of a full size fridge using a kegerator kit. Made a sheet metal deck at the bottom for it to sit on. I used to get two 1/4 barrels so when I ran out, there was a spare. Learned the hard way about having a spare CO2 tank. I used the freezer to store mugs....that was awesome. If you drink a lot, they are great to have.

That's the ultimate way, IMO, but I don't trust my mechanical abilities to be able to convert a refrigerator.

Or maybe it's my motivational abilities. I imagine it's a pretty big project that I don't have the patience for.

I don't drink daily, but I entertain plenty, and even more now that I have a pool.

I do about 10-15 a week now so a 1/4 keg would be handy and I would consume it in 60 days or less. Probably sooner because having company over would increase.

All you are doing is drilling a 2 inch hole (if that) through the door so the beer can get from the keg to the tap on the outside. It is pretty simple. The hardest part was creating a stable floor for the barrels to sit on. It's pretty easy, yo......and I am far from mechanically inclined.

Go find a $100 fridge and by a kit for a $100 or so. The kit has the hoses, the pressure gauge, a tap, and an empty CO2 tank. Fuckin' Joker could do it.

I'll think this over. Maybe I can have you and the little woman over for a Ravens prime time game and some smoked salmon

And we can get this done :toast:

Too awkward to drink it out of the bottle. :0003

So very true...

kneifl - I only have a single tap. If I use 1.6 barrels then the kegerator is big enough for two, but I don't have a dual tap.

Jack a friend of a friend has one. His gripe was that within a year, he had replaced all the lines/fittings. Now, since he's done that, with better stuff all is well.

Using that process, you can get basic kits, and use an old fridge. Most are available free on CL. Full size are nice, as you can use the top for frozen glasses.
