i`m certainly not forcing anyone to buy something for home defense....

and that`s the way it should be....a person`s choice...

but,i don`t think that the criminals will be turning in their weapons if bock imposes a gun ban...
and thankfully,i doubt he can (until the supreme court gets overhauled)...but when he does(and he will if he can)crimonals will be the only ones armed...

don`t protect yourself...don`t lock your doors...leave your keys in the car...no sweat off my brow...

do your thing....but don`t impose your rules on me by taking away my second amendment right to bear arms(yes,i know to kosar that means wearing a tank top)......

I'm not for banning guns whatsoever.

I'm also not for it being legal to walk into a gun shop or go to a gun show and pick up an assault rifle.

Why stop there? Why not allow rocket launchers and M-60 machine guns? I mean, the 2nd amendment and all.

Maybe bazookas and hand grenades? For protection, just like our forefathers intended.

Nah, that's just crazy talk.

I know lots of people that are buying guns. I've even seen/heard some militia talk. I already have plenty, and I'm not buying into a lot of stuff like some people are.

Militias? Jesus Christ. WTF is wrong with people?

They had a front page article in the paper last week about how all the gun shops around here were more or less out of ammo and they were having a very hard time getting resupplied.

I'm more concerned about the impending civil war between the haves and the have nots.

yeah i agree with you, a little ridiculous with people buying militias....a handgun is a handgun, but how the fu*k is it legal to go anywhere and buy a weapon MEANT for mass destruction? I dont blame people for buying a gun at all, but it's absurd you can go to virginia, or florida, and buy a gun like you're buying a candy bar or a pack of gum....but, in some areas id be worried about home invasions or crazies and even though im scared sh*tless of guns, the worse the economy gets the more likely you may need to use one, never know g-d forbid  but these gun-happy guys in the south need to relax a little bit

There will never be a ban on guns, no matter who is President and no matter who is on the Supreme Court. Stop freaking out.

btw- what is Britains gun murder rate compared to ours?

what you don`t understand is that the criminals will still have weapons...they won`t turn their guns in...

and don`t you think that the brits were saying the same thing you`re saying?...."it can`t happen here"....

of course it can, if the supremes say so...

excuse me if i don`t take YOUR word for it...

d.c. had a gun ban....and the recent supreme court vote to rescind was 5-4.....it`s that close...

and obama just nixed the right of the pilot of a plane to carry a weapon in a locked cockpit.......that really makes sense...

i`m not a big gun guy.....i have a little s&w .38...it`s barely a gun...

but i`m against this creeping governmental b.s. regarding the second amendment because any government that decides one amendment in the bill of rights is negotiable and ignorable means that potentially none of the bill of rights is safe from the government. ....

I'd like to get a shotgun or handgun for "home protection"

But, knowing myself, if someone broke into my apartment while I was there, I would just jump out the window and seek help. It isn't so much that I am a wuss (which I may or may not be), but I definitely have a strong "flight" instinct when in danger. Plus it seems like finding police at the risk of losing some property would be less of a hassle than killing someone and facing the repercussions of that (legal, fiscal, psychological).

As far as natural disasters/civilization ending scenarios, I suppose it would come in handy.

How much would a shotgun cost anyway? Can one afford to protect themselves in "these hard economic times"?

there`s an alterntive..if folks are squeamish about having a weapon,a dog is an excellent option...nice to have choices..

personally,i couldn`t own a pitbull(maybe that`s unfair and I`VE been indoctrinated in that respect)....particularly if i had young kids...

I like dogs as an option also, although I have a cocker spaniel, he will at least wake us up for me to get my gun
