St. Petersburg, Florida -- Forget just being first in line. These folks are the first in the nation to start camping out at a Best Buy store in search of Black Friday deals.

The Davenport family pitched a pair of tents Wednesday at 10 a.m. in front of the Best Buy at Tyrone Square in St. Pete to snag deals that were still nine days away.


I stay inside and play Xbox and drink and eat and watch Football.

How does the store even let them stay for 9 days... get a life.

I don't care if they were giving the shit away, I would not camp in a store parking lot for 9 days...:confused:

I probably will check the circulars and see if there's anything I'd like to grab and go before work. I won't participate in anything more than a quick stop or two, IF there's something I really want, I'll try to stay patient and get the item. Then get the Hell out of the way...

Why don't people have to work that day? Do all of the shoppers take a vacation day to get up early and "save" money?

It's Florida! Those people probably just moved their tent from a vacant lot, over to the store for a week.

Since I have old mans disease (wake up at 4:00 AM), I go to Sams Club. Have gotten good deals on HD TVs, cameras, etc.:0074 Stay away from crazy mob scenes like Best Buy, Walmart, Target and such.

you folks who have wanted to leave those days of sad ass monitors have a great chance this buying season..

The nice LCD's are priced as loww as $200.00


you simply can't beat some of the prices if you really have been wanting to come out of the stone age and get a state of the art LCD/Monitor for your viewing pleasure.
