Unfortunately for East Germany, it was the Soviets imiplementing a communist government. Sure - plenty of East Germans eventually bought into the Soviet logic - it was either that or flee. Don't know what choice they had in the matter early on though.

Care to share with us what present day country that your analogy applies to? What country has deep rooted hate amongst it's own citizens that a democracy has prevailed in?

Chadman said:The really sad thing is, we sit here and have arguments about finishing the job (whatever the heck that means) in Iraq, and Osama just keeps on sticking his face right back at us.
How many conservatives are happy with how well the administration finished THAT job? And now we need to figure out how to finish the job in Iraq? We can't figure out how to DO the job, let alone how to finish it.
Maybe Brownie or Harriett (when she is dismissed) can go over and lead the task force.
Chadman said:I wonder if there will ever be a thread on this forum that does not lead back to Bill frigging Clinton. Hey, conservative apologists, why don't you follow your leader's lead, and stop playing the blame game...
That happens when we are done paying out the nose for his mistakes ! Than he will just be the worst and most disgusting president to ever lead this country .
We cannot now catch Osama Bin Laden, and it's Bill Clinton's fault. I don't remember all the details in your assertion that Clinton could have HAD him, and didn't TAKE him. I'll assume some of that may be true. But I doubt the factors involved in his decision took 9-11 into account, did it? Kind of mathematically impossible, I offer. But continue to deflect.
What part of he was offered to Bill 2x dont you get ? What part of Osama being the spearhead for 9/11 dont you get ? What is mathematically incorrect about the 9/11 bombings being planned from 1998 to 2001 at which time Osama should have been in jail dont you understand ?
To suggest that because of Clinton's decisions, your family now HAS to go to war in Iraq is simply not based on the real world. Go ahead and spin it however you like. Iraq does not equal Al Qaida. Insurgents do not equal Al Qaida. Saddam is not Bin Laden.
But Clinton remains Clinton, and everything in this forum including the Notre Dame loss remains his fault. You guys are really weak sometimes.
Palehose said:If you believe we would be at war with Iraq now if 911 didnt take place you should get help...really go see someone for that .
Palehose said:Guess you like Saddam Kosar ....worry not he is getting help from Clintons Lawyer ...you libs may see this guy to freedom yet !

It pisses the hell out of me that Bush supporters don't hold the Bush administration accountable for the bullshit deception and/or incompetency over this venture. Maybe it's because they are afraid it only "gives power to the enemy", but it couldn't be more obvious.
Fact - We blew it.
Fact - We can't leave yet
We wanna cut through the BS or play games? I say double the troops, admit Bush is f'kin a-hole idiot, and do this right. We owe it to ourselves, Iraq, and the world.
