After today's pathetic jobs report, this is a sure bet that Benji comes out with something next Thursday. On top of that if Germany votes to go along with the European Central Banks bailout program on Wednesday we will take out the old highs of 2007. Load up your brokerage accounts and make sure your 401k's have plenty of exposure to stock funds. This is going to be one hell of a ride.
S&P crosses 1500 briefly this morning. The all time high is 1565. We will take out the old highs as the world is flush with cash. Hell, even Japan joined the printing party recently. All this liquidity is being spent on stocks while world economies deteriorate. Bernanke has to print 1.2 trillion a year to keep the wheels from falling off the U.S. economy. Yeah, we'll take out the old highs and your 401k's will be fat, but the Black Swan is lurking and will rear her ugly head and down we go HARD. I'm leaning long, making hay while I can, but my finger is on SELL button. I have stated this in this thread since last summer and I will reiterate it again. BUY GOLD AND SILVER. When the world markets collapse, its the metals that will hold their value over paper assets.
never buy a stock after the founder dies or leaves

Stockjockey do you have a personal preference as to where you purchase the gold and silver? Can you buy using a 401k account?
Thanks
Thanks Jack. All my funds in Vangaurd. Will check into it. Have been wanting to do it for some time now. Need to get on it. Still would like to know the best place to purchase the gold. Stockjockey?
Jaxx- You can get exposure to gold and silver through ETF's (exchange traded funds)... Gold symbol is (GLD), Silver is (SLV), which all trade on the exchanges. Not sure if Vanguard allows you to purchase ETF's??? They correlate the closest to spot price minus fees for those ETF trusts to store and inusre your investment. I own both of those ETF's in my brokerage account, but in addition I would personally recommend buying physical gold and silver through a dealer as well. I'm sure you have locals who deal in gold bullion, bars, and coins. The three most marketable gold coins are Kruggerands, American Eagles, and Canadien Maple Leafs. Avoid the Maple Leafs as they can be scratched easily and hence lose their value. When buying silver coins, buy anything pre-1965 or what they term "junk silver." Also, check references of dealers, do some homework to make sure you're getting a good price above spot, and store the metals YOURSELF. Hope this helps......
Thanks man! How much exposure of your account would you recommend?
My apologies for hi-jacking the thread fella's.
Always diversify, no less than 10% but no more than 25%.
Found a place in Jax that sold the the gold coins at $79 over spot. Bought a couple to just to get my line wet. I like it. Security
Want to hear something worse. I invested a lot, and I mean a lot in it when it was $495. It went up to an all time high of $640. Then it went on a free fall dropping to $525. The Facebook stock was having an IPO and people had thought apple got too high. I pulled out most of my money when it was at $540. I should have just left it in, but I didn't. Glad I still made some money but kicking myself now.
With the iPhone 5 coming out and rumors of a smaller iPad and Apple set top TV box (partnering with cable companies) this stock has no where to go but up. In Q4, we always see stocks gain a little bit because of Black Thursday and Christmas. It might go down a bit but I don't see it breaking $600 and it will surely be $700 by the end of the year. Just my two cents.
Good luck,
kneifl
