I know you were prob leaning for Rudy -got a question--Have you ever seen a poorer campaign ran anywhere--it was only possible way to lose a one time national lead.

I think if McCain gets in Rudy will be strong consideration for VP though.

That was the most ridiculous campaign 'strategy' this side of Fred Thompson. I thought so even before Iowa, but I had no idea he would do soooo poorly down here. It shouldn't be that Iowa and New Hampshire have so much influence, but that's the way it is and has been for like 30 years.

Like you say, he had a huge national lead and then totally ignored the realities of American politics and how it works. Utterly stupid.

i`m throwing in the sponge(not our sponge)......i can`t vote for mcamnesty, and if asked,i`ll outline the reasons why....i`m sure most are aware why..he`s a closet lib..and the closet door is wide open...

i`d rather have 4 years of hillary than to see the republican party go liberal....the dems have moved leftward...so leftward it`s almost absurd......and the rino wing of the republican party has taken control...

you can see why mccain`s the media darling...he`s the perfect fall back postion for liberals if by some strange act of god he were to defeat hillary...

rather than see the conservative wing of the republican party fade into obscurity with a miserable mccain presidency,i`d rather see him trounced by hillary....abjectly defeated so the republican party can reboot and get back to it`s conservative roots...i`d much rather have another conservative revolution in 4 years...

so lets bite the bullet and take our medicine....we can handle 4 years of hell on earth....hillary and the dem congress can repeal the patriot act,bring the gitmo prisoners to the states and let them lawyer up...more lawyers like that fat ugly bitch that was passing notes from her client to al qaeda....

no waterboarding.....not even a strongly worded letter will be allowed to garner info from those that wish to kill us...

we`ll get our socialist healthcare and we`ll be waiting in line for ct scans and mri`s with the illegals...because the border issue will get infinitely worse.... i feel bad for canadians...where will they go for emergency healthcare now?n

the clintons will again downsize our military....and taxes will go through the roof....we`ll have the government monitoring our thermostats,telling us what to drive and eat........

and all the while,any self help we could potentially utilize(drilling offshore,at anwar,buildiing nuclear plants) will be rendered utterly useless so we can preserve the habitat of some shit-fleas somewhere........ansd while china goes to town drilling off our own shores....

I highly doubt I'll be motivated by McLib to vote.
But we'll see the Rino presidential campaign try the scare tactics against pantsuit and the dem's socialism to entice the conservatives to come out and vote, but this will fall on deaf ears due to total disenchantment, same as last congressional electrions.

Break the Grand Old Party down and build 'er back up. Maybe in 8 years or so we'll begin to see a swing back to the right of McLib and the Bushmeister.

Conservatism is a disease, as well my friend.....not a whole heck of a lot of conservative success stories/achievements out there as far as I am concerned. I'd be interested in hearing what you consider to be the pure conservative's movement crowning achievement throughout American history.

What our country and what most of the world needs is a complete infusion together of the best parts all poliical genres bring to the table. As I have said, I have plenty of liberal and conservative tendencies within me.....it makes me a politcal outcast, for sure, because all everyone wants to do is line up blindly with one side or the other.

You conservatives think there's nothing good when it comes to Liberalism. You could not be farther from the truth. But, I would say the same thing to those who out and out trounce conservatism as well.......of course, part of the reason I consider myself a bit of a Liberal has nothing to do with certain political agendas or platforms, but because I can see and accept and encourage the value of other political thoughts....there's way too many people and geographic areas in this country with different needs. Thats why its foolish to subsrcibe to the "see the world in only black and white" mentality that most conservatives do. Its why the conservatives struggle when its their turn to run the show. They're so shocked by the different sets of grey in the real world that they dont know how to truly lead a great, diverse nation such as ours.

While I am not ready to throw my hat towards supporting anyone yet, I feel part of McCain's allure is that he does not seem to completely spit on and banish an entire political thought, such as Liberalism, because most people in this country are like me.....they have a little of this in them, and a little of that in them.......part of the reason the 1990s were a successful decade was because a democratic president embraced the conservative mantra (one that had been ignored even by republican presidents reagan and bush and clearly ignored by bush II) of a balanced budget.

There's value in all political thoughts and we need someone in this country who will work to cobble all of that together, rather than one who will completely shun and trash one side in favor of the other.....to often, the latter has been happening in modern American politics and we need a leader who will change that.

And since I just brought up the dreaded C word, I will sit back and wait for my proper lecture on that word from D.T.B.

Reagan Democrats.....not sure how big of a voting block that was or how much of swing it ended up being, but I do remember that term being used a lot to explain his amazing electorate success.

As far as illegal immigration......i do not think there has been a true "liberal" idea put out there to solve this problem.....yes, there has been a "democratic party" idea or two to it, one that placates possible new voting blocs while making themselves feel happy because they can say to themselves, look how liberal and diverse we can be. But, I feel a cornerstone of true Liberalism is the contstant evolution of new ideas to attack new problems, hurdles and challenges.

I see none of that on this particular issue....then again, if we just enforced our current laws, that would be a good first step. Not sure where to go from there.

But, that is a whole other thread topic
