I think its between them and the Cowboys and possibly the Giants. Losing Merriman is killer. But, Rivers has grown up and is working his way up to the top echelon of QB's. The team was close the past 2 years.. I think even with their head coach they should be the team to beat

Where it is real F ing COLD
I wouldnt say that now.. Their defense isn't that good. A good team would be lighting them up with all the time Favre had to throw.... I think that they have a good shot of getting there though

They arent even the best team in the AFC, dont be fooled by tonight, they had EVERYTHING to play for and a back against the wall mentallity....I would rate Denver higher then the Chargers and not because they won the game lastweek, but the coach for the Chargers limits them and is a negative in my opinion

I mean on offense they are comparable to the Cowboys

Romo > Rivers
LT >> Marion
Gates = Whitten
Owens > Chambers
OL = Push
San Diegos 2nd and 3rd wrs are better than the cowboys..

I think both defenses are suspect. Cromartie is great.. and is a lot better than all of the big names that Dallas over pays in their secondary.
Both coaches are trash. It would be a great game IMO

I agree with that but lets remember that game was in Denver. The past 2 seasons they have had some big wins in the postseason, and just choked against the Pats who they had beat last year. Coaching with Turner will probably come back to bite them at some point

Dallas is hands down.

Don't forget, the chargers lost their first 2 games. I don't know if I would put them first in their division, denver is decent.

I would take Wade over Nerd and day. And if you think TO=Chambers you are way off on evaluation, TO=BEST RECEIVER IN FOOTBALL
Now go through the defense man for man and see how that pans out..the Cowboys D is one of the TOP in the league, secondary can only be exposed when playing a line that can hold off the front 7.....IE Eagles who have one if not the best(that hurt to say) line in football, every other team theyve played thus far theyve dominated the lineof scrimmage, IN BOTH SIDES, Chargers are LUCKY this weeks match up worked out well for them, I mean it is the B-R-E-T-S

They are lucky its the jets? They were beating the Panthers for 47 minutes and 59 seconds, and they got screwed by the refs against the supposedly best team in the AFC. I didnt say chambers was better than owens.. I don't think the dallas defense is better than chargers (man for man). I mean San Diego had more pro bowlers last year.. and you have to be kidding me with Roy Williams being a pro bowler :mj07:

Until the Cowboys win a playoff game.. I've seen them do this the past 6 years. Start off amazing then completely fall off the last 3 or 4 games to end the year.

Cowboys 2007 lost 3 out of their last 4 (0 - 1 playoffs)
Cowboys 2006 lost 4 out of their last 5 (0 - 1 playoffs)
Cowboys 2005 lost 4 out of their last 6

There is a trend there.. that goes on for years but i dont feel like looking it up

it's still just week 3 - so we'll see where things stand say 10 weeks from now - but Dallas has the looks of a nearly unstoppable offense - and one that only Romo can beat...seriously though that does have to be a concern - not sure why but in those big playoff games, he comes up subpar...the running game is awesome - the Felix Jones pick was just brilliant...Witten I feel is the best TE in the game all around...the WR2 spot thus far has not been an issue - though they still need someone to become a regular big play 2nd WR...

I still am concerned a bit w/ the Dallas defense - can't get out of my head how they played against Philly - and they stepped it up in GB last night...but this is a defense that can be scored on

As far as SD - their defense still has work to do - right now it's a rout of NY - but this is the lowly Jets - yes the hype is over for this Jets team - we are seeing that Favre might not be the savior to bring this team to the playoffs off a 4-12 season...

I've been very impressed in the young season by Rivers - and as they've talked about coming off the injury - in the end though I believe San Diego comes up short, as they usually do. Turner will find a way to botch it in the playoffs (if they make it)...

So far I'm thinking we see some upsets int he playoffs this year and your guess for the 2 Super Bowl teams now might look alot different come Super Bowl time...Denver if they could fix their defensive issues has a nice looking offense, but I do see some holes in the running game...

I guess what I'm trying to say is this is the NFL, week to week anyone can be the best team...the key to wagering in any NFL season is to understand what the perception is for the teams, how the public is viewing things - and to look for the line value...

Look at yesterday 3 double digit dogs in Oakland, Miami, and Cincy - no chance right? All 3 could have won outright...Miami a 13 potint dog wins by 25? Anything can happen week to week...

Tonight we have an 0-2 team laying 9 pts - which was hit by the public backing the Jets - driven down to 8 pts...and it's currently a 24 pt lead by the 0-2 Chargers...that line just looked goofy to me - people were lookng at the +9 or +8 w/ Favre as a gift on MNF...there was a reason for it...

We aren't going to win or lose every wager, but taking into account how the lines are set and what people's perceptions are will help us all figure out "the right side"...

Who knows anything can happen in this crazy league...if Dilfer can win a Super Bowl, why not the rookie Flacco?? :shrug:

DT, i do not know how drunk are you, but you are overwelmed by the Chargers display today, you have to be used to see a good or well, a very good team, beat hard a mediocre at best team. You know, the Jets have Favre, a veteran who whines for 3 years until a team get sick of it and just moved on, he is not a god, will never be, neither romo or manning or brady can help this team, is a reconstruction team, with big contracts but no work, for now, so stop the drinking enjoy the hype and look the holes in that SD defense now

Sorry after looking at the post again I noticed the > sign and started to edit my post but figured it didnt matter. Are you meaning the best team in NFC(as in the Panthers?) I totally disagree with that..if the best team doesnt rest in the NFC EAST whether it be the Boys,Giants, or Eagles the NFC has no best team....that division alone is like lining up for a playoff game each week you play a divisional opponent. Agreed they should of beat the Panthers but lets be serious this team WITHOUT LightsOut is average on defense as of NOW, if they make the adjustments to pressure the QB(which I doubt that Nerd has the capabilities to do) then they may have a good shot, dont get me wrong they are GOOD but pressuring Farve and McNabb are 2 different horses...the Jets are all hype and no bite, the media loves Favre..I think he is over with and makes too many mistakes like throwing the ball up for grabs in crucial times, tonight shows a little of that. And the Chargers have let the B-R-E-T-S put up 20 early in the 4th. And I agree the Cowboys have TO PROVE themselves in the playoffs..byt lets not overstate that what could of should and didi happen were way different.....the mishandled snap HAPPENED no doubt but that SHOULD of been a W. Lastyear it was only the drop by Crayton that put them in desperation mode thus losing to the soon to be Champions. I think a little experience here then a little there and may we see a break through this year? I am satified with saying the B-R-E-T-S will not make the playoffs and with this years wide open AFC this is the BEST chance they will have in a long time again. As we speak the JETS RECIVERS are shredding the CHARGERS VAUNTED SECONDARY....its hard to cover anyone for 6 secs or longer. I agree though it may be a good game between the 2 teams.

Ok bro, I am telling you, they are a very good team, but now the best, they have weapons, but not the unstopable weapons, also merriman out is a huge lost

What about the 10 or so **** ups the Chargers did to practically gift wrap the Pats the game last year, to allow them to go to the superbowl? The Cowboys are great no doubt.. but to rip on the Chargers D who was pretty solid tonight and praise the cowboys D who gave up like 40+ to an average at best Phillys offense is comical.
Oh well..Cowboys have some good wins, we'll see how they do when the games matter :toast:

that playoff game last year, LT had 2 carries and Rivers played with torn ligaments in his knee. This is a talented and deep team. With a god awful coach :toast:
