On the course!
I saw someone looking through a catalog today, and noticed something with the baseball gloves. First off, when I was a kid, you got a "right handed" or "left handed" glove. In this catalog, you picked your glove depending on which hand you threw with!

It would read:

GLOVE---(Throw right hand)

GLOVE---(Throw left hand)

Now, why would this be? Were there really that many stupid people out there who didn't know what a right handed, or left handed glove was?

Have any of you ever seen this?

Never seen it but understand why they do it. People are stupid. I imagine they got shitpiles of returns because people ordered the wrong glove.

Of course that's why they do it, which led me to the post.........Are we, as a nation, REALLY this stupid?

"I throw with my right hand, so I need a right handed glove!"

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
The official state map of Texas, given out to motorists at the rest areas, used to chop off the Texas Panhandle, the rectangular top of the state (like you see in map below) to fit the whole state on one large inexpensive printed sheet.

but I remember when the TX dept transportation folks were excited in the mid 90s to find a printer who would print the whole state whole, un-chopped, on one sheet just as cheap -- because they had to field about two calls a day in summer from angry motorists driving around New Mexico looking for the "rest of Texas".

Funny you brought this up. I was at the local Nike Outlet and the golf gloves were all labeled Left hand (for right handed golfers). I thought the parenthesis was overkill but I guess this really is an issue. I just assumed someone purchasing a golf glove would know what hand they needed it for.

Sad that Hedgehog's family vacations when he was younger always ended up the same way....lost in New Mexico.

Years ago when we first staryed playing slow pitch softball around here, we had a guy who batted "cross handed" from the fight side of the plate. Invariably every time he came to bat someone would yell, "LEFTY"
