Going going gone !!

Good thing we got our Oct 5th KC/Den tickets right when they went on sale.
They were gone before you could blink an eye.
This will be my 1st Arrowhead Game.
I'm stoked !!

Anyway I want to stay as close as to the stadium as possible.
Doesn't have to be luxury. Hell even a Holiday Inn will do.
Just need a place to keep my beer cold & put on my war face.
Ideas on restuarants & night life needed too.

Just a shot in the dark cause I don't know many Jackers from KC.

thanks in advance

SC

KCWOLF,

I will be in your neck of the woods Oct 1-8 maybe we can finally hook up on your turf.

Senor.....wish I could help ya out, just wanted to jump in the thread to tell you that you cant imagine how awesome being there live is going to be. My wife and I drove over from Columbus, OH as a birthday present to me and it was one of the greatest thrills of my life. We stayed in St Louis instead of KC so the drive was cut in half. This year my dad and I are heading to Paul Brown Stadium to watch the Chiefs kick the Bungals ass. That should be fun, but not nearly as cool as yelling at the top of my lungs while the Chiefs are on defense to try and get the offense to false start. Man, they pride themselves on that, and they will actually count on the scoreboard how many times the crowd is responsible for false starts. It really gets em pumped up. Sorry for rambling, but your thread just brought back some really cool memories....I will have to come back sometime

thanks for the input

thanks for the input

Actually this trip was purchased by my little brother for my birthday. Every year we would go to SD and watch KC.
But this year he surprised me and we are Arrowhead bound :)

Oh I'll be screaming. Got my headress & war paint & I'm good to go.

We will be driving in from Wichita KS and stay over near the stadium.

We won't have any problem with Cincy but Denver may give us a run for our money.

Adam's Mark Hotel just across from the complex. Have a brother in the bar business in Leawood ,KS (KCK just off StateLine) they do bus trips and tailgates EVERY home game.PARTY,PARTY,PARTY!
Should talk to him in the next day or two, he hooked me up, with a room from a customer of his in the Hotel Biz, when SF played at KC when Joe was KC's QB. Area around the Complex sure to be SOLD OUT  will let you Know if interested in staying 'off site'.

Senor, I live about 15 minutes south of Arrowhead and go to about 90% of the games. I will be more than happy to help you out in anyway that I can. The Adam's Mark is right across the interstate and I think a Holiday Inn is there too. Other than that, not much else real close ( walking distance). I will check on that. Let me know what type of entertainment you like and I will steer you in the right direction. Two riverboats w/i 10 minutes that have very nice accomodations if that is what you want. Let me know about what type of food and bar scene you like as I know I can help you there.

Bad, what bar does your brother own/work at???? Always looking for new places to go.

GREAT AUDIO:thumb:

Paddy O Quigley's, Irish themed Sports Bar & Grille, 119th & Roe Blvd, County of Johnson, Leawood, KS. (main store). Pat's Blue Ribbon Barbeque and the "Big Easy" on the water at 'The Lake of the Ozarks'.

Senor, let me know if I can help you in any way. I lived in Wichita for 10 years, may have crossed a path with your brother. Most all of my family is in the KC area.

Bad, I have been to Padddy O's several times. There is one in Lee's Summit where I live too and it does big numbers and is great place to go. Just got back from the Lake this last weekend for a golf and "Party Cove" weekend and had a blast. Went to the "Topsider" and "Horny Toad". Do you know what mile marker the "Big Easy" is at as I am going back down there in a few weeks. A girl that used to stay with my daughter during the summer has an uncle that just bought a triple engine 47' Fountain powerboat. They have invited us down for a weekend and I am not about to pass that up. The dude scratched out a check for $565,000 for this thing. Can't wait.

Senor, I think that is also Nascar weekend here in KC so I wouldn't wait to long to make reservations as it will be a full house around here but should be plenty of things going on.

I'm in Vegas. No casinos please :)

Definitely will be eating BBQ.

Actually my whole family lives in Vegas. We moved here in '68.
I was born in Valley Center KS in '61
also lived in Newton, El Dorado

Lil brother has bucks and hooks me up every birthday.

Thanks Crunch we booked a room a the Holiday Inn across from the Stadium already due to the fact we don't have to fight the traffic.
I checked it out & it's nice for a HI. Not that we need a nice room cause we won't be in it much.

I just looked into Adam Marks Hotel Year Built - 1975 Year Remodeled - 2000 offers 79.00 per night. Comparable with HI.

I hear there is a Sports Bar close by (Georges ?) I think I forgot the name.

thanks again

Senor, the Adam's Mark is definetely nicer, but if you aren't going to be there much, it doesn't matter. The one drawback to where the sporst complex is located is that there is not much around the area as far as bars and entertainment. You are a year older than me so if you want, I can give you some good places to go where there will be some people close to your age, unless you want to look at the younger 20 something crowd, and I know which way I will steer you then. I am debating on which BBQ place to recommend as everyone has their own likes and dislikes. To get the real feel, I am thinking Bryants and it isn't real far from where you will staying. There is a very nice shopping district called "The Plaza" that has alot of nice bars, good variety and usually plenty of eye candy to look at. Let me know any other details that might help me in recommending some other places that might appeal to you.

Senor, here is a pick of the Adam's Mark-KC. In the part on the right, that is the back of Kauffman Stadium, so that should give you an idea of how close you are to the sports complex.

Hi Lanny,

Glad to here your coming to town. I live on the west side and you need to get my email address from Jack.

goldcupsports brought this thread to my attention. Sad to say, I haven't been over in this forum for a long time.

I could have set you up for the whole nine yards, 40 yard line seats, parking pass & tailgating right across the street from Gate H. My seats are in Section 136, on the aisle. Underneath gold level, out of the weather.

I'll probably be there, working around my son's wedding October 10 in Chicago.

I have a big in with the Raphael Hotel down on the Plaza. I should be able to get you very good rates in a class older hotel along the river walk. That way you can walk, horse carriage, or cab to some of the best shopping/socializing in the KC area.

Tom Fooleries (sp?) is a must Sunday brunch before heading to the game. Easy drive to Arrowhead, then tail gate with us, ok?

Gates at Arrowhead open at 9:00am.

Senor, I think I would consider taking KC up on the offer. The Raphael is in a great location within very easy walking distance to some great bars and restaraunts. I personally have not been to the brunch at Tomfooleries but several of my friends have and not a bad thing to say about it. It is only about a 15-20 minute drive to the stadium from there too. You will definetely like staying on the plaza vs. where you are staying as far as location goes.

My seats are in section 237 in the Club Level, so they are close to being right above the Wolf.

KC

Nice to hear from you.
I'll be staying in Valley Center. Normally I fly in grab a car & drive down Ridge Road, while stopping along the way for Nuways ;)

I believe we are in nose bleed section 316 (nasty) but at least we are there :)
Section 136 is on the visitor side ? Maybe I'm looking at the seating chart wrong.

Raphael Hotel looks very nice. Let me know what rate you can get & I'll put it past my brother.

Tom Fooleries sounds like a winner. I'm game.

Gates at Arrowhead open at 9:00am. ???
What time does the game start there?
