maybe we can just stop doling out traffic fines and shame people into obeying traffic laws?...you have to have "some" sanction available....
We need to bring back community shunning! I am not in favor of violent vigilante justice, but maybe we, as a society, shouldn?t turn every minor incident into a law enforcement situation.
Seriously though I am cool with a fine, I guess it just feels weird because nobody even witnessed the pissing live, in person. That sort of crime feels like one where if nobody was around to be bothered, what's the harm? Obviously filming it changes the equation, but still, after the fact outrage feels less sufficient for arrest.
And that crime you quoted is exactly my problem with the justice system in the United States. SO many millions of unnecessary laws, the cops can always get you for something. Does their really need to be an extra law for cemeteries? Can?t existing laws cover anything someone might do wrong in a cemetery?
Gee maybe one of the reasons cops get such a bad rap these days is because they have the power/responsibility to choose to enforce or not enforce the million laws on the books. How can they even keep track of them all?
Nah, it's definitely not OK. I'll save my outrage for something that is more clearly unjust. This is a yellow area.we`re not talking about some poor sot who`s leaving a stadium parking lot and doesn`t have a bathroom facility available here.....
you think it was o.k. that the guy specifically filmed himself pissing on someone`s gravesite and then posted it on youtube with the intent to humiliate/denigrate/embarrass and insult the deceased and his family?.....really?.....
should defecation be o.k.,too?...does it matter which bodily function the guy chooses to distribute on modell`s cemetery plot?....
I think it`s a good thing that the offended family gets to choose whether or not to press charges and not some stranger whose ox isn`t being gored.....
whoa....
