I think you could call this Exhibit A as to why I don't play totals anymore. :mj07: Yesterday both teams somehow managed to combine for 11 runs in a game that featured Bedard vs. Haren. Today, with two scrubs on the mound, it's a low-scoring pitchers duel. Absolutely no rhyme or reason whatsoever to totals if you ask me.

So. California
As I mentioned to Lee...it looks like they don't even want to be there...with a crowd of 14,000, I don't blame them. I surely don't see this fiasco going over the number

Not at all. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of teams tend to take the day off in the last game of the series (getaway day). Especially if it's a day game and they just played the night before. I think mentally they just pretty much checkout. I think their minds are probably not on baseball at all. That's what it looks like both teams are doing today.

One problem with the over in this game is that the A's probably learned their lesson from last night. They won't bring in the gascan Calero today. I'm guessing Duscherer sees some action and Street closes it out.

How sad is it that the A's have a minor leaguer on the mound and the O's are probably praying for the A's to bring in their bullpen? :142smilie :142smilie

Brian Roberts is an idiot, it should be 2-1....the A's had bases loaded with 2 outs and Kendall hits a routine ground ball to 2nd, Roberts for some reason tries to go to 2nd and Tejada isnt expecting it so Ellis is safe at 2nd and a run scores, then the pitched walked another run in before getting out of the inning at 4-1 instead of 2-1.:banghead:

Wow. Didn't see that. I knew that it was a botched fielder's choice but didn't know how it happened. Even if he makes that play though it's unbelievable how the O's are getting shut down by a minor leaguer. I'm not even sure the O's will score 2 in this game!

They yanked the rookie Braden to start the bottom of the 7th, Witasick is on facing Tejada to lead off the inning. I have the O's winning, but it does not look good....I didnt know Dallas Braden was going to pitch like Johan...especially since he cant hit over 90mph

Tejada with a lead off double, the O's have a whopping 4 hits now, and they are all extra base hits (3 doubles, 1 triple) yet they have manufactured 1 run....

Not sure why Witasick is in. I realize they have a 3-run lead but the guy has not pitched well. Almost threw the game away yesterday with Calero and now he makes another dumb move by brining in Witasick?

If they don't get Huff in from 2nd it's ballgame. Next inning is the bottom of the order so they won't score and they won't put up 2 against Street. Payton not moving the runner over will kill them...

He really didnt throw the screwball, the ump has been giving both teams good calls all day from the mound, calling a lot of strikes low and outside. Braden has just been locking guys up with a good curve
