Be careful with this game folks----we all know good pitching beats good hitting!!!The question is Tom Glavine better than the Arizona's hitters----I'm not so sure!!! Sure Tom Glavine has looked good of late and we all know his track record. Typically, it is hard for lefthanded hitters to bat against lefthanded pitchers but not in this case... Arizona has patient hitters(unlike Houston) which is the key ingredient to beating Tom Glavine. Batista is a pretty good pitcher and going against a weak Atlanta line-up will only make him better. Sanchez,Bako, Franco, and Giles decent players but not the guys that can help win the NLCS>>>>>> So the question is Is Tom Glavine better than Grace,Gonzalez,Finley and a very good offensive bench????? I do not think so but not really sure. Staying away from the game tonight, but this might be the game where the offense breaks out!!!! If I had to pick I would say Arizona is a good dog to take due to the lack of offense from Atlanta.. and the patient Arizona hitters might be the difference... I will stay away from the game though and get ready for tommorrow...."time is money"

uhhhhhhh......obviously you know nothing about Houston's hitters.....

They are maybe the most patient least aggressive hitters in the league.

You have just been exposed as a fraud as I suspected earlier.

yep -- i am sure this is someone whom we have heard from before who wants to get an ego boost and start having his picks get a following....

but these people are exposed as soon as you ask for information because their information is wrong sooner or later becuase they "guess" at their info instead of knowing their stuff....

About ready to quit posting.

Don't care if Innavation is a new poster, or under another name. This poster brings up some great points, and all I see is immediate criticism without any substantial points vs the last few games.

Innavation may stand to be corrected about one point - Bako may be benched as Javy looks to be back in the lineup.

Innavation's point, as I saw it, pointed out Houston's lack of patience in the playoffs. I think he's right.

Respect you all, not wanting to start a burning thread. I thought we all had a wonderful exchange of thoughts today on the first game, going into the second game. GREAT, factual comments by both sides of this first game.

No need to start this shit. If it continues, I'll go on my merry way.

This forum is about sharing thoughts, or I quit!

Amen KC....

c'mon guys...It's very simple...My Mother told me a thousand times before she left this cruel world, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Constructive criticism is OK, but where is all the hate coming from guys???

unbelievable...

Are you kidding me guys? How many first pitch strikes did you see them take? Houston sat there, took the first pitch almost every time, right down the tube, and then after they were down 0-1 waved at the succeeding pitches.

Glavine, Maddux, and Burkett KNOW that Houston was patient. They threw a meatball on the first pitch, and then threw their junk 4 inches outside the plate while the pitches were either called strikes -- game 1 and 2, and then the Stros waved at them in game 3.

I repeat. The Astros -- almost every one of them -- took the first pitch right down the middle the whole series. Game 1 and 2, they kept on taking, and game 3 they swung at the "strikes" that Burkett was throwing.

I don't care if you are new or old, or whoever. If you take the time to put some thoughts together, I am going to read them. WE are all here to provide input on the games so that we can be the most effective cappers and ultimately win.

I may not share your viewpoint, but I thank you for sharing it.

Thanks Thunder,

you said it better than I. It's hard to be humble, but you will never be a consistent winner if you don't.

Nolan, care to comment. I'd like to write a book on this subject, may well do that in the future. Need a few of you to help me, and you know who you are.
