The opening line caught me by surprise at -9. I believe that it will be seven by kickoff. As of right now I feel that Alabama is a very strong play. I see Auburn winning this game in overtime. Needless to say, it will be a very low scoring affair. Alabama is an extremely live dog in what will be Auburn's toughest test of the season.

Auburn undefeated in Tuscaloosca

Auburn undefeated in Tuscaloosca

Keep in mind that Auburn has never lost in T-Town. I know everyone is still waiting for Auburn to come out flat and not perform well, (Look at the amount of people who jumped on Georgia Saturday)but it just isn't happening. I'm sure people will point out that Bama has a great defense, one that was considered the best in the country but keep in mind all the stats they built up came against opponents with losing records. I also realize Auburn has played some pretty crappy teams such as the Citadel, which helps build up impressive numbers as well. But the bottom line will be offense. Bama has no offense! This team has more trouble completing passes than Ralph Nader has getting his name on ballots. Spencer Pennington has thrown 2 TD's and 7 pics this year. David Greene couldn't even move the ball down the feild against Auburn's Defense, he didn't even complete a pass to Fred Gibson, and one of the few balls Reggie Brown caught Junior Rosegreen forced a fumble by nearly decapiting him. Bama WILL NOT move the ball down feild. This is the biggest rivalry in colllege fooball, but Auburn is just the more dominant team.

Auburn 28
Bama 3

Well put agent 999!

Without a doubt its the biggest rivalry in college football, but this year the Mighty Tigers are too much. I think its time for shutout!
See you in Miami!!

I can't remember the last time Auburn shut out Alabama............Oh wait a minute it just came to me............In Tuscaloosa a few years back, 9-0! Auburn is gonna start paying property taxes in Tuscaloosa because they own Bryant-Denny Stadium!

Well said we own T Town. I see Auburn running up the score because Alabama cant stop them. If Georgia couldnt move the ball on Auburn Bama doesnt have a chance. I see the Bama faitful betting the line down. I would definately watch it all week. Also Tommy Tubberville knows that Oklahoma will run up the score on Baylor. We need a very impressive win to have a chance to play for the BCS Championship game.

Interested to see what the total will be. Anything over 40 would be a gift.

I think Bama plays this Auburn team tough. I don't see Auburn being able to blow them out. If Alabama scores an early touch, then they should be able to keep it close.

Bama's offense is pathetic. for them to pull this win off given their cirmumstances would seriously be a miracle. - 3rd string QB, 2nd string backfield, no depth to begin with, one dimensional offense, etc, against a national championship contender. i would be surprised if they had many, if any, offensive drives. most likely they will have their typical field possitioning/denfense oriented game plan. i look for this one to be closer in the first half and AU should pull away in the second. AU does a great job of rotating 1st and 2nd string players at each position throughout the game and should eventually wear down bama's thin roster (especially at the defensive line). i know a 9 point home (rival) dog is tempting, and rival games are played with more emotion, but if auburn executes like they typically have this year, they should cover 9.

Both teams will approach this game like any other Iron Bowl. To say Bama will be "more fired up because..." or "Tubby will run the score up with Oklahoma, etc" is ridiculas. Any given year either coach would run the score up on the other if they had an opportunity.

depending on which line LSU line you use, auburn is 9-1 ATS this year.

AU999,
David greene could not move the ball. I guess when he got int in the endzone which if that ball is thrown harder that's a td doesnt count. What about the 1st drive where he led them down and they missed an easy field goal. What about the pass where it was caught at the 9 yard line and would have been 1st and goal but the Auburn player launched himself helmet to helmet to force a fumble. (should have been a personal foul). What about the td he scored at the end with all the starters in. That right there would have been 24 points by Georgia so dont really understand what you are saying. What I am saying is this. Auburn has faced a similar team with no offense on the road with no offense and they need a 4th and 12 just to be able to get a CHANCE to score to win the game. The game was LSU. I will tell you this I have seen Alabama play this year and although I believe LSU defense is good; Alabama's is better and in a rivalry game it will be even better. Brown ran all over Auburn AT AUBURN and Alabama is one of the best running teams in the nation so I expect a very very close game. This will be by far the toughest test for Auburn. I will be playing the points and the moneyline in this game.
Good luck on your plays.

I agree with Au999, mainly because he is one of my fraternity brothers, but that is beside the point.....bbk....first of all i don;t see how you can sit there and say woulda, shoulda, coulda.....the fact is georgia got whooped....they should have made that first fg, but guess what they didn't....they choked....auburn will not blow alabama out by any means, but it will not go in to overtime and i promise you they will not fun the ball on auburn....if you are one dimensional you cannot win in the sec, and we all know pennigton ain't worth the charmin extra soft he wipes his but with, to quote varsity blues....bottom line......auburn wins 17-10 and then beats UT 42-3 in SEC championship....

I am not playing the woulda coulda game all I am saying is Greene was able to move the ball and Georgia was able to run on Auburn pretty effectively at auburn. And in rivalry games anything can happen one dimensional or not. I believe Bama will not only cover the game but win the game. That is my opinion. You may be right and Auburn may win a close game however I will tell you this: do not under estimate Alabama their secondary is the real deal and their front seven is very very good. This game will be in my opinion Auburns toughest test and unless Bama gives Auburn 6 turnovers like Tenn did at home. Bama will win the game. Good luck on whatever you play.

Not at all but I am fan of winning money and I think that Bama is the play. It is not a big play for me by any means however I do believe with Bama secondary they should make enough plays to keep this game close and pull the outright upset. If people are on the other side of me that is great. I always welcome different view that is why I love this forum; I have been on alot of different games throughout the years and different people have helped me from losing alot of money by taking those views and using them to my advanatage. I just think peope are getting carried away with Auburn. Any other year going undefeated in the SEC would be a huge accomplishment but before the Georiga game Auburns biggest win was at Tenn and Tenn had six turnovers in that game. I like Georgia to cover that game against Auburn but it was no surprise they won that game. Look at USC and OU and tell me when is the last time they lost at home. You are supposed to win your home games. Its the road games that are tough. I believe coaching and emotion are a huge part of college football and going on the road tests both of those. We will find out this saturday how Auburn reacts in a hostile environment. It would not surprise me if Auburn wins as they do have a better offense but it should be very close. Another thing that worries me is Bama's starting qb and how dinged up he really is.

I like Bama too, and I am glad that you are not a Bama fan. Everyone hyping up Auburn on this thread is a Tiger fan, just like everyone hyping up Georgia on last week's thread was a Bulldog fan, just like everyone hyping up the Pats in last year's SB to cover the spread were from Boston. I like it, and I like Bama.

Auburn OC Al Borges made a comment the other day that caught my attention. He said that on the west coast when he won 20 straight games at UCLA they had to score 40+ pts a game for the win. At Auburn he doesn't have to. Auburn(with the exception of LSU and Ole Miss) has scored all it's points in the first half then just ran the clock out the second half. That is a testament to how good this defense is. I beleive Auburn is first in scoring defense with 9.3 points a game. Most of their opponents points have come in the Final minutes of the game (UGA, MSU) when Auburn has the 2nd and third team Defense in the game. UAT(University Alabama at Tuscaloosa) will have their 2nd team offense pretty much in the whole game, not to mention the 3rd string QB. I don't see Alabama scoring to much in this game, if they score. The question you have to ask yourself is do you think the Bama D can prevent Auburn from the endzone. Auburn does have the most balanced, I repeat THE MOST BALANCED, offense in the SEC, if not the whole nation. I don't know if you can find a weak link in the offense. IMHO I really don't think Bama has a snowball's chance to win. I'll take Auburn all day long but if you like Bama I wouldn't take this game any lower than Bama +10.

People Keep making excuses for teams losing to Auburn. Yes I am an Auburn fan and Alum. But when Oklahoma was kicking ass and taking names and Miami and Ohio State were kicking tale I never doubted the way they won a game. BBK you saying that our biggest win was over Tennessee because they had 6 turnovers is kind of an oxymoron is it not? 4 of those turnovers were caused by Junior Rosegreen intercepting Ainge's bad passes. That is what good teams do, they intercept passes and they don't let David Greene Score and they knock the ball lose from other players after they catch the ball. I'll bet you if that was Southern Cal or Oklahoma instead of a SEC team you would talk about what a good play that was or what a quality win that was, not how they got lucky and just happened to fall on 6 of Tennessee's Turnovers..............If you like Bama to win that is fine but you cannot deny that AU is a top notch team just like Oklahoma and USC.

As for the Points Bama is catching, Remember the line 2 years ago when Bama was supposed to thrash us like a little girl and we beat them 17-7............thats right Bama was a 10 point home favorite. Be Careful is all I would say to anyone that plans on betting the mortgage this weekend on this one because, here comes the old Alabama and Auburn cliche', Throw out the record books come saturday because the Tide don't care if we are number 3 or 33 they hate us just like we hate them and it will be a fight to the last second, always has and always will! This game is truly a flip of the coin.
