Kentucky gets Petrino.

I can actually see this happening. I dont see either Aub. or Tenn. making a play for Patrino given his past but kentucky could get away with it. I still say both get another year, especially Chizik. If I were Tenn, I would push hard for chucky. That is who I was hoping we would pursue if richt didnt make it out of last year.

And just to clarify what I mean about his past, I think the way he left atlanta is just as damaging as what happened at ark. as many of the Aub and Tenn fans are also falcon fans and remember what his punk ass did very well.

Kirby Smart will be the next HC at UT. I am not thrilled, but anything is better than this dipshit we have now.

Auburn won't fire Gene this year. Recruiting class is too important (big defensive talent) and we would lose a great DC that we need to help develop these young defensive players.

if 2013 isn't a great year, which honestly it won't be if you look at our schedule + we will still have kiehl frazier at QB. Chiz will probably be let go after the 2013 season. Would rather have Patterson or Peterson but those are probably pipe dreams in the HC search.

Pretty obvious now that Cam and Malzahn propelled that Auburn team to the NC team two years ago. Auburn is Auburn. They hit way above their average in 2010 and they need to be realistic in their expectations. I'm not saying by any means that Chizik is the best coach out there, but Auburn isn't an elite program.

and you really think Petrino comes back to the SEC

Some idiot will hire him. Character in players is hard to complain about, when fans and administrators hire coaches who have none.

BTW, the writing has been on the wall since Hart came to UT. Dooley is gone unless he somehow gets to 8+ wins, and I don't think he has what it takes to hold this team together. I am not thrilled about hiring Smart, but anything is better than what we have. At least he would probably leave Cheney alone to do his thing on offense.

Skip, what galls me about Dooley is how arrogant he is. The guy has no reason to be so arrogant and is damn lucky to have gotten the Tennessee job after he was what, their third choice?

Your 1st statement is true. The rest of it is garbage and not surprising coming from a Texas fan.

Auburn is a top 15 program all-time in every ranking on the internet. By the Alabama system for claiming national titles  we have 6 national championships. Do we claim 6? no. Personally think if Auburn doesn't claim 1983, nobody should be able to... look at Miami and Auburn's 1983 seasons side by side and try to make a case for the U. Not going to go on about it because this has nothing to do with gambling or making money, but 2010 was our 3rd undefeated season in 18 years.

Auburn was good that year, no question about that. Toughest schedule and only 1 loss. Tough for you to easily dismiss Miami though. Miami's loss was to #6 Florida, and Auburn's to #5 Texas, both early in the season. Auburn had wins against 4 ranked teams, Miami 3 (they had the #17 SOS). Obviously getting the bowl matchup agianst the consensus #1 at the end of the regular season was big for Miami. In the end, it wasn't close in the polls.

Lower than that. The fundamental problem came in the hiring of Lame Kiffin. The hiring of him was all about his staff and his daddy, and I was on the radio at that time being cursed at for saying it was a stupid hire when Brian Kelly wanted that job.

The hiring of Fooley was the result of the timing in the process. Being a typical lawyer, he comes across as very professional and capable. What I know, and have been told, is that he is less than dishonest on many things when it comes to the media, clueless on how to handle a coaching staff, and had no idea on what it takes to motivate college kids in this day and age.

I still believe that this football program's downfall came with the hiring of Kiffy. Make no mistake, there needed to be a change, but he was the wrong hire.

Rumors swirling on some AU "Insider" boards that AU Associate AD Tim Jackson is interviewing for the Arky State AD position. Word is "if he takes it, he was told to take it."

Praying it's true. Auburn needs to clean house from the top on down. Jackson, Jay Jacobs - both do what Pat Dye, Joe Whitt and Wayne Hall tell them to do. Those 3 plus Bobby Lowder are how Jay Jacobs lame duck puppet ass landed at AU in the first place.

In AU's last AD search, the final 4 candidates were: Jay jacobs, Dan Radakovich, Scott Ethridge, and Greg McGarity. Jacobs was 4th on every ballot voted on. Big $ people at Auburn wanted Jacobs so they could have their hand in the program. This is where it's gotten us.

I'm hoping Jackson to ArkyState is writing on the wall that they are cleaning house. I would like a new AD to come in and evaluate our situation without outside influences of alcoholic ex-coaches. Then decide who we go after at the end of 2013. The talent will be there for whoever the next coach is... Just need someone who can coach them up

I have known since you hired Hart that Kirby would be in his future ... but if we run the table again this year how many jobs are gonna be thrown at Kirby
