Your 1st statement is true. The rest of it is garbage and not surprising coming from a Texas fan.

Auburn is a top 15 program all-time in every ranking on the internet. By the Alabama system for claiming national titles  we have 6 national championships. Do we claim 6? no. Personally think if Auburn doesn't claim 1983, nobody should be able to... look at Miami and Auburn's 1983 seasons side by side and try to make a case for the U. Not going to go on about it because this has nothing to do with gambling or making money, but 2010 was our 3rd undefeated season in 18 years.

Its got nothing to with me "being a Texas fan".

Auburn is a good program. Sorry if it hurts your feelings, but they're not an elite program. I agree that Alabama's claiming of some of their "championships" is BS. They'll have their dip/downturn, just like all programs and conferences do. The SEC is top heavy with LSU and Bama. After those two teams, they SEC is behind the Big 12 and Pac 12 top to bottom. Nothing lasts forever.

Lower than that. The fundamental problem came in the hiring of Lame Kiffin. The hiring of him was all about his staff and his daddy, and I was on the radio at that time being cursed at for saying it was a stupid hire when Brian Kelly wanted that job.

The hiring of Fooley was the result of the timing in the process. Being a typical lawyer, he comes across as very professional and capable. What I know, and have been told, is that he is less than dishonest on many things when it comes to the media, clueless on how to handle a coaching staff, and had no idea on what it takes to motivate college kids in this day and age.

I still believe that this football program's downfall came with the hiring of Kiffy. Make no mistake, there needed to be a change, but he was the wrong hire.

Skip, what you stated is 100% spot on. :0074

TLank - does the associate AD really contribute to the issues?

Apparently he's "sitting in" with meetings between chizik and bvg. Vangorder said today he doesn't want anyone sitting in on their meetings anymore. Tim Jackson was going to get dyer pregame cheeseburgers because he didn't want to eat the team's pregame meal.

He's just party of the buddy group that's running our program

Boss, there is only one elite program right now, and it's not even close. We will see if there is a 1a in a few weeks.

You bring up some good points, but please don't start the conference argument this early.

Like golf, that argument can only be played, never won.

I'd say some folks in baton rouge who have won 19 of 20 games including wins over 3 top 5 teams and a 1-1 record vs Bama might beg to differ...lol

Cie - Based on what I have seen, I don't think it is close. I hope I am wrong, because I promise I will be rooting for the Bayou Bengals:00hour

depends on what your criteria is for calling someone an "elite program"... and what the time frame is for qualifications.

If you look at the last decade, Auburn has 2 undefeated seasons, a handful of 10+ win seasons and Tubberville had several wins over top25/top10 teams.

I would most definitely call LSU an elite program. been to 3 NCGs in what 8 years? And can't remember any seasons in that span that they have been bad.
